  1. Looking great Rob. Will need to stop by on a weekend.
  2. There was an orange 77 or 78 280z on craigslist in Slidell, the past month. Haven't checked if it was still there recently.
  3. If your going with what you currently shown. I really like A with option 1.
  4. Just a heads up, Ihiryu (Steven) is great to work with. The gauges are awesome and Speedhut is great to work with also fixing a small hiccup. (My fault for ordering the wrong sizes, they are accepting it all back and pay a minor shipping and rehandling fee). If anyone is interested do not hesitate to ask questions and speak with him.
  5. Seems really decent. Curious how it would work on the huge crevices and valleys that the cracked Z dashes could get. Funny how I just started working on my dash this week and you post this one.
  6. Steve sent you an Email. Minor issue with delivery info.
  7. I know a guy with I think a 74 SBC that lives in Smyrna, he works at the nissan plant. Maybe I can get him to join you guys also. He has a very nice setup. I am seeing how things look so I can take a weekend drive up there and check it out.
  8. I ordered kit 2-3 months ago and it's been sitting in my shed waiting till I have time to actually put it in. Will be a few till I am able to actually drop the motor, if I have the right piece can give it to you till you get the right one to give back.
  9. Comparing it to a Titan I had estimated with similar damage was 6-7k worth of damage, when a tree attacked it. Bought it back, fixed most of the damage ourselves, not the prettiest truck, but still haul and tow all the heavy crap I need done when needed. If the truck is still in good working order and no bent frame, use it as a hauler/beater truck or something the son can't beat up any worse.
  10. I know this isn't pertaining to Roll Cage, but similar and maybe it can help you. I refinished a few rims for my truck using a simple process: Sand down to metal - Etch primer - Primer - 3 to 4 coats of paint of your choice (I used VHT Gunmetal) - 3 to 4 coats of clear. Took me 4 days for 4 rims working on them a few hours at a time, in between other honey-do chores. Also the rims were gouged and scratched pretty deep from the previous owners failed attempt at offroading, which made up for the longer work time. There was a lot of cleaning each time and I took my time for each rim, but the results are after 3 years, potholes, new orleans streets, and 20k miles, they haven't faded or chipped. Hope this helps you. Also everything I found was at Autozone (cheaper online tho if you are patient). I can PM you my entire post I had on the other forum if you want.
  11. Mine is slowly starting to form, I received almost everything I need, I just need to find the time now. My wedding is in a few months so been helping the misses with that, and I don't mention car stuff too much or she gives me that look. Rob let me know if you need a hand with something, always happy to help on the weekend.
  12. Here is another mount kit. Not sure if anyone used it before on here, but it has color pictures in the PDF installation!!! http://www.brphotrods.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=BRP&Category_Code=CNV8
  13. JCI mounts which can be found at brokenkitty.com are what quite a few folks use. With a lil mod on some pieces they work very well. Hawks third gen are very nice and just came to market, you would have to PM the guy (think his name is bruce)since it will not show on their website. Think 280zjake had some pictures of the setup. Few others are out there or you could fab your own. Good luck on your build
  14. Lots of penetrating oil, a lil heat, patience, and a spindle pulling tool. If you need a snapshot of one let me know I got mine somewhere.
  15. The way I shipped stuff was I built a small cradle so put the engine on. The oilpan would sit in the middle and supported by the sides. Then put that on a small pallet then strap it down. Can use 1 x 4 or 2 x 4, whatever is scrap and handy to you. That is if the entire engine is in one piece. Make sure all fluids are drained out. As for shippers, I think Uship bids it out. I shipped via FedEx and UPS freight before some heavy items but they cost a pretty penny through them. Find a buddy who works in a shop or warehouse and see if they can get you a discount shipping using one of their preferred carriers. Also it costs more if you have them pickup and they have to use a liftgate. Last time I shipped something that large, I used my work place since I had access to a forklift and dock, it saved me over $100. Hope it helps, think others may have more info for you.
  16. Very nice, but I do like the window mod.
  17. And here I thought I had a lot of random clamps. Looking pretty good there Rob.
