I’m almost ready to start my rebuilt 4.6 DOHC Ford modular.
-
I’m rebuilding a spare engine I have. Having issues with my junkyard pulled engine. 20 track days on it though. 🙂

This is actually coming onto the front straightaway.
-
Thunderhill raceway coming out of turn 13.
-
I replaced the power steering pump because it had a seal leak. The power steering pump drives the hydraulic brake booster.
-
I'm assuming this result is due to a pretty restrictive exhaust manifold.
?
-
The horse power restriction is in the exhaust.

I have driven this Z with these new coil overs. I used 275 lb. springs in the front and 250 lb. in the rear.
Wow is it stiff! I'm not sure what would be the best spring rate.
-
Step by step coilover conversion...pinned write up.
thanks to thehelix112

Brought the 4" intake out front of the radiator.
-
Checking fit before welding Ford 1310 Yoke/U joint to stock Z drive shaft.
The output yoke is Ford 1330...using a conversion u joint 1330 to 1310.
-
90% of the engine is behind the front wheels, which made exhaust and steering very difficult!
-
This clutch slave did not work.
-
No boost......
-
The front of the car is supported by a single jack stand on the original crossmember.
The engine is mounted on custom crossmember/engine mount
-
The engine is running using Megasqirt 2.0 with circuit board 3.0 which I soldered up myself.
It has 4" intake tube into '96 Mustang Cobra intake manifold.
The engine I pulled from Pick n Pull..................1993 Lincoln Mark 8
4.6L DOHC
Transmission T-45....output yoke has 1330 u joint fitting....I welded a 1310 yoke to stock Z drive shaft front and used conversion u joint 1330 to 1310. Works but not balanced.......I'll order a real drive shaft soon.

I made the exhaust. It took me months. The space is crazy tight.
