  1. So, I've got a champion on the way. Makes sense about not hard mounting it. Other than the JTR set-up which uses a different radiator anyway, does anyone have a pic of how they rubber mounted their radiator? From the pics of the radiator (I dont have it in hand yet), it looks like there are the stock mounting tabs on the front of the radiator and also mounting tabs on the rear (I am assuming for mounting fan/shroud). Maybe installing from the rear flange with rubber cylinders of some sort with longer bolts to the stock location on the core support?
  2. So I have a street driven mild 2.8L 1972 240Z. I took the stock original radiator to the local radiator shop for repair and they have informed me that the header is cracked and will need a complete re-core. He quoted me appx. $400-450 for the re-core. I figure I can come up with a better replacement for that kind of price, but after searching on here I am left a little confused as to what to do. I am looking for advice here. I was able to come to the conclusion to stay away from Champion brand radiators which are found at the Z Store and on e-bay. I would like to keep it as drop-in as possible. I am not exactly trying to find the cheapest option, I just want to make sure I am getting the best bang for the buck. The JTR and Arizona ZCar offerings are what I am looking at right now. Is there something better? If I just kept it stock, where would y'all purchase one from?
  3. Most likely not your problem, but i bought a z a couple of years ago and had similar problems that turned out to be the wheel bearings were bone dry. Pretty scary driving experience!

  7. I need the two adapters for the bottom of my brake master cylinder that the hard lines screw in to. The 7/8 master adapters are much larger diameter than the ones used in the 15/16 master.
  8. The problem with going that wide is nobody makes a 16 in. tire wider than a 225/50 that I've been able to find, unless that super tire stretch is what you are after.
  9. Just take them to your local powdercoater, they can easily strip and re-coat them. If you are worried about paint chipping off after a short amount of time, powdercoating them will be a good way to go and have peace of mind about longevity.
  10. Anyone got a set installed on a 240/260/280 yet. It looks like I am going to have to space them out from the firewall farther than the Mr Gasket ones which will interfere with my battery. I should probably re-locate the battery to the rear anyway, but I kind of dont like the idea of using up any of my limited interior space.
  11. Call up one of your local powdercoat shops. You will be suprised at how many different types of blacks they offer. I did mine in 60% gloss black and really like it, but I thought long and hard about going with black chrome. It might also be known as smoked chrome.
  12. You can already get a powdercoater coat your pieces in "black chrome" if you dont want to wait.
  13. SSFlyer, can you (or anybody else) post pics of your driving light brackets. I purchased the driving lights from MSA when I bought my type 3 airdam, but have not come up with a good way to mount them yet.

  15. I have run aluminum spacers on my daily driver toyota rock crawler since 2000 with 40" tall Super Swampers and have encountered no problems. I have broken ring gears, birfields, and hubs, but have never had an issue with the spacers. You could check the adapter nuts a couple of miles after initial installation and then every tire rotation if you really wanted to. I am running 2" 4 lug to 5 lug adapters on my 280 with Cobra rims (white with zg flares but only a 5.7 not a 6.0 ) and havent had any issues with this car either, but I havent put a lot of miles on the combo yet (street only car).   17. I have a 76 280Z. I bought a 79 ZX 15/16 master cylinder to swap in. The Z MC where the hard lines screw in has adapters that are appx 1" diameter. The ZX MC boss is only appx 1/2" dia. Also, the Z MC has a spring with a rubber & metal disc with tiny holes in it that were under the hard line adapters. Does the ZX take something similar? The pieces dont fit in the ZX MC. All the searches talk about the rod length, but nobody talked about issues with the hard lines matching up.

That 8" width is a killer." I have not seen thinner 4 lug to 5 lug adapters. You could probably trim the ezaccessory adapters down a little bit, but probably not enough to fit this wheel/tire combo under the stock wheel wells. Also, I am not running coilovers and with the stock style coil springs I really doubt you could tuck these 9 inchers under the wells (dont tell Bartman though, he might just take the challenge!). Clearance to the rear coil springs is appx 1/2" and the tire stuck out appx 1 1/2". Tory
  21. I am running 99 Mustang Cobra 18X9 rims with 245-40 fronts and 275-40 rears with the ezaccessory 2" 4 lug to 5 lug adapters and had to go with ZG flares because they stuck out just a little bit too far and hit the wheel wells. I dont think rolling the lip with this set-up would work. Tory
  22. I just received my fiberglass SS hood from 280Zone and I have some questions about mounting. I am planning on mounting it with the hinge up front and pins in back. I was told by some guys I work with that I dont want to just drill holes in the fiberglass for the hinge bolts because the constant wind buffering over time will wallow them out, but that I should sleeve the holes and use something like JB weld or silicone on the sleeves to keep them tight. My question is if I do that where do I get my adjustability to get the hood sitting just right? Tory

Sorry Mike, it looks like maybe I ordered the last set of 265-35-18s yesterday, of course, they havent shipped yet, so I still might get an e-mail telling me they are unavailable, but I couldnt pass up $99 each Tory
