Hey guys, Iv been Poking around looking for a used roll cage for my Z. I don't see much reason buying a new cage since I plan to paint it. Id prefer a bolt in. its for a 1976 280z

So I have all the bottom end swapped out with my new cp pistons and eagle rods...Im just waiting for my cletive bearing (suprastore.com is taking FOREVER to get me my parts!!!!!!)

That Really sucks sorry to hear that. Are you still running the stock bottom end? I am glad that the Trans is holding up I should be starting on the project again this winter hopefully.....
Ya it was the stock bottom end...new CP pistons just showed up at my door step tho

Well Guys its been a while and the car has been running great..A few weeks ago i noticed i was blowing some smoke...and well i found what the problems was..i was MELTING pistons...yeah thats right....apparently you cant do 20psi on pump 91

So how is that Transmission holding up??? I finally got some work and have some extra cash to start on my project again!! I need a Trans, cam's, and turbo....
Its holding up GREAT..done some drag passes...beat on it a bunch...i figure im running around 5-600hp through it right now!!!

well i almost have the 2J out of the lexus, and im learning a LOT as i go...pass side is ready, all unplugged, labeled, and exhaust undone....driver side is slowing me down. am i correct in thinking the harness runs through the intake mani?? ive split it and can now see almost all of what im looking to free up.....
Next up i have to get under it and undo anything that is in the way....along with draining fluids.... on the SC300 do most pull motor/trans together??

I wouldn't know about an sc300... I know on my car i have to pull the motor with trans...it makes it MUCh easier.

i would totaly do it that way...i wouldnt recommend to anyone to do it the way i did it... I am extremely experienced and ran into problems that I had no idea how to fix..luckily between me and my friends who are all professionals were able to work through the problems. (some problems that were created shops)

ya thats a good way to start...it was hard going all out all at once like i did...I actually think I cracked a ring on my number 6 piston. IM pulling the motor this weekend to check out whats going on... but im blowing blue smoke out the tail pipe...and my number 6 plus was all fowled.

Any of you JZ guys road racing? Just about everything I've searched, brings up drag strips.
John At Betamotorsports does. And I plan to. Kept mine 5-speed and Once I get it tuned im going to do a track day. Doing a 2jz add only 80lbs to the car (as if you turbo'd a l28)

Halfway through the day they even called me into the tower... If I was launching the car they knew i would be doing 11's and at that speed im supposed to have a roll cage... They asked me if i was doing it by nitrous...since i wasn't running Nitrous They let me keep on running...

HEY GUYS WENT TO THE TRACK AND DID SOME TESTING!!!!
Did a 13.3 at 120 with a roll launch and a 2.9 60ft (slow). Oh and at only 18psi!

I am sure it has been worth the wait.
It really is a blast to drive still...i was worried that the handling of the car would be INSANELY affected but the car still feels like it did before the motor swap....it still digs into corners and just hooks to the pavement coming out of corners.... well until i hit boost now!!!!!
im glad i didnt do a v8!!! lol

well i disconnected my boost controller and let the spring out ALL THE WAY and its supposed to have a 15 psi spring in it..and i was still boosting to 25 psi...NO GOOD lol

I have no idea but it is obviously back wards. The exhaust comes from the header into the discharge side of the waste gate.

I just found out the exhaust shop put my waste gate in backwards

1995 Toyota supra 2JZ-Gte swap...single turbo..stand alone..cp pistons..eagle rods...port and polish...ect ect ect lol
