  1. Sorry I've been gone...some family problems. Lost my Mom.

Anyway I finally went with the Eibach progressive springs from Motorsport. Shocks are from Sears (believe it or not). I've owned the car for 42 years and around 20 years ago Sears had these heavy duty shocks "guaranteed for as long as you own your car". Well they lost money on me as this is the 3rd set I've gotten free! The shocks are pretty go0od...made by Gabriel.

The result is very satisfactory to me. A little stiff but not excessive.

I'm using the 17" Konig wheel from motorsport with 225/45-17 tires. Looks great too.

    Pictures?

  2. Hey guys.

Today I was driving my 240Z and I felt the shifter getting harder to put in first. As I was heading back home I would have to pump the clutch pedal twice to get into first at stop lights. When I got of my exit I stopped at a light and then I couldn't get her to go into any gear no matter how much I pumped the clutch. Finally I pushed the car to the side of the road and called a tow truck. What may be the cause to this. The car has been shifting perfectly all this time and I'm not sure if its the clutch or the master or the slave. With the engine off it will go into all the gears but while running won't go into any. All help will be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

  3. Hey Guys. I've searched and read many pages now and I think I've confused myself and I'd like to ask you guys a question. I know that all the 4 speeds and 5 speeds till 83 are the same boxes except for the t5s. I just want to know if I can install a 280z 5 speed into my early build 71 240z with stock mounts, drive shaft, and shifter. And will I have to cut out the shifter hole to clear the shifter and modify the console at all? Will my stock 240z shifter hit the radio as I think I've read somewhere?

Also I am in Miami and if anyone has a 5 speed for sale near to me I would be interested in purchasing.

    Thanks in advance guys.

  4. I originally had this in my 280Z with the original drivetrain and it was the front differential mount.  Replaced it and the problem went away.  Now I have an LS1 and T56 and the problem is permanently cured as the rear of the T56 is bolted directly to the nose of the R200 using a pair of C channels to create a torque tube that replaces the rear tranny mount and the front differential mount.  Been driving it 34,000 miles now with no issues.

Hey Phantom. Any pictures of that setup?

  5. Hey Guys. I have a 71 240Z and I was wondering if this guide works for my car? Also I understand you use the  Bilstein P30-0032 shocks for the front but What do you run for the rear? Thanks in advance.

I noticed in the parts list that only 2 shock need to be purchased here:

    From MJMAutoHaus: (http://www.mjmautoha...roducts_id=1995)

    Bilstein P30-0032 shocks: 2 x P30.0032.SET @ USD199.95 ea

  6. This post made me go out and check why my shifter was so sloppy. After pulling the boot off I looked and there was no bushing. Pulled out the shifter. Went out to the local parts place and bought the HELP bushing assortment pack for $5. Determined which pair fit the shifter best and pressed them in with a bench vise and drilled them out with a 23/32 drill bit. Re-installed shifter and went for a drive. WOW...Feels like a new car. Thanks
