  1. I am absolutely in love with the 135. I was actually thinking about trading in my car for one but I bought a zx instead.

The great thing about them is the fact that not only are they underrated from the factory (not wildly, but just enough to count out the efficient drivetrain theory) and all it takes is a tune to make it close to 400whp. The TT i6 in those are great IMO.. Not to mention the car looks great itself. I think the only thing that I don't like about them is how heavy they are for their size, I think that it would have been fairly easy for bmw to drop it below 3k lbs.

What color did he order? Pleeeeeease say alpine white.

  2. By the way, it was great to meet those of you today that I hadn't met yet, and it was great to see Chris(es car) again.

Hope to see all of ya'll again soon, and hopefully I'll actually be in something a little less fwd and <90whp. I had a great time out there today.

  3. I figured that it would be better to just start a new thread instead of hijacking phils thread, so here are a few pics that I took today at Alamo.

If any other members took any pics/vids please feel free to post them up. I'm going to try and upload a couple of vids tonight or tomorrow morning and post them up also. :wc:

  4. GM is officially my favorite automaker. With this and the upcoming g8 gxp I don't understand what Mitsubishi and S

ubaru are going to do with their evo and sti to keep up with performance. It seems like they're going to have to ditch to 2.0 setup

  5. I would suggest picking up as many new civic type R parts that you can get your hand on so you can sell them on ebay. I'm a moderator on a civic forum and those crazy people pay ridiculous amounts of money for jdm parts.

I would say the ep3-r would be the easiest to buy parts for since a lot of it is straight swap into the 2002-2005 civic si, but there are also parts off of the new type r sedan that you would be able to sell for a nice chunk of change also.

Just something to consider, I would definitely make as much money off of the jdm honda freaks as I could if I had the chance.

  6. Well they didn't teach that in my structured cabling class.

You would think that since they have that much cable that would've at least rigged up a safety cord to try and prevent that. Hell, they have the spools too, why not a pulley system?

Oh well, I'm glad they didn't because now I get to chuckle at it.

  7. If you like that, search for

    "French Military Victories"

I think that one is one of the best.. The creme de la creme was the old trick that you could search for "failure" and click "I'm feeling lucky" and it would go to the white house web site.. directly to the profile of George Bush Jr.

    God bless google.

  8. On top of that he plans on using a bookshelf (think 007 style movies) to hide the door that leads from the main house to the underground bunker part.

I would love to just be able to do that. "Hey, you want to watch a movie?" *pulls 3rd book from the left on 2nd shelf and reveals a secret passageway*

  9. By the way, a place that I've heard a lot of good things about is www.hmotorsonline.com .

And another thing that I would say is that if the h22 does seem to be a tough fit into the crx, I would consider a k24 with a k20a2 head. That way you would have vtakk and a low cr that's perfect for boost.

I know that a k24 longblock can be had for pretty cheap as long as you don't look for the one out of the acura tsx. The rsx-s 6 speed transmission bolts right up (if I'm not mistaken) to the k24 out of the honda cr-v/element too.

  10. Actually now you have just about any number of options.

The b16 is a semi-cheap and pretty popular because of it, and has a whole lot of aftermarket support. The people looking for a little more usually go for the b18c5 swap and then boost it, which would be more than enough power for a crx.

Personally, if I were to boost I would go with the jdm h22a. It has a little more tq and about the same amount of hp as the b18c5. The swap is really popular in the 90-92 accord scene with some pretty decent results.

If I were going to go n/a I would go with the k20a2 with the full skunk2 catalog and kpro.

If you'd like to know more about something specific please feel free to ask.. I've been around b16 swapped crx's and hatches in the past and around swapped hondas for a good amount of time now.

A lot of people will say to go K before you go B, which I would tell you the same thing except the aftermarket support for the B is great and the parts tend to be a bit cheaper.

  11. ^That link is a different kit than the original link posted. I know that there's a thread on here somewhere where a company is gauging interest on reproducing that kit, but I still would like to know more about the kit in the first link.

  12. When you refer to the TT i6, you are talking about the motor out of the 335/135i, right? From the reading that I've done on it it seems to actually be a pretty impressive motor. I admit that my reading hasn't been extensive or anything, just lurking on the forums and learning what I can when I have nothing better to do.. But from what I've learned all that needs to be done is a tune and it makes close to 400whp with no bolt-ons whatsoever. I would think that if that's true then it would seem to me that if the car was modified to breathe a bit better and then tuned that 450+whp wouldn't be out of the question without spending a lot of money on modifications.

Feel free to ignore this post, I'm mainly using this thread to learn a bit more and hope that the potential replies can help me with this. Right now I'm just going off of a little bit of knowledge and a bare-bones history with modifying cars.

  13. I didn't read all the replies or anything, but here is my personal opinion.. The beginning is good.. I like the simplicity of your voice and the guitar combined, that really sounds good. The vocals still could have been a bit louder, but all in all it was good.

When the drums kicked in the guitar riff wasn't all that great. It was repetitive and kind of droned on. The great thing about a simple intro to a song is how great a powerful guitar riff sounds after it. I'm assuming that you are recording this all at once since there were small imperfections in the guitar at points, nothing too bad just enough to notice. I would suggest recording everything seperately and then layering it over. That way you could use your drum set and get a more natural feel in the song, not to mention you could add a more powerful guitar riff to back up the chorus.

The tone of the guitar is great, it makes me want to get mine down off the wall and just jam out for a little while. Ovation FTW on that note.

As for the vocals in the rest of the song, you definitely need to put some backbone behind your voice. To be able to pull that whisper-vocals style off you have to be pretty damn talented, so I would just use it for the intro and move to the more powerful guitar/vocals after that. Remember that your voice is what people hear the most, and if the lyrics are passionate then the voice should be too or the people listening are not going to relate.

All in all you have a good starting point for a good song.. Take what you have and chop it up/build around it. The song does stay in one "mode" for too long and that makes it seem as if it is just droning on, but you have more than enough to just add a little oomph in certain sections and you'd be good to go. One word.. Chorus. Split the verse in half and add a chorus, then close with that same chorus. Just that little addition would make the song much better IMO.

Here's a perfect example of a song that could've been wonderful if more thought had just been put into the architecture behind the song itself.. especially the vocals.

Hope that helps in some way bud. I have to say that you did a good job man, I'm too scared to record my voice right now. Maybe one day I'll get a house and just let loose. You > me
