  1. Ive got almost a 1000 pictures of different z cars, coupes and 2+2's. Id make a cd if you want.

What is the size of the file? Are they all jpegs, or are they an assortment of different file types. I'm just curious.. Plus, I wanted to subscribe to this thread so I knew exactly who here on the boards to be jealous of. :-P

  2. Jesus Christ, I'm scared to death of when/if I ever pass a kidney stone. I've heard that sodas will cause kidney stones if you drink too many of them, and it scares me because I used to drink a ridiculous amount of soda daily.

I've since limited my carbonated drink intake to either 1 soda or energy drink a day. I would probably quit drinking the energy drinks if I thought that I would survive any of my classes without them, lol.

BTW, if anyone has ever wondered what it's like to type while on pain killers, I think that this line pretty much sums it up:

My service writer thankfully found some some with some vicodin.

    hahaha.

  3. Not to go off the subject a bit, but could I be the spawn of this new project idea? :D

I look forward to seeing what you do with the s30 man. If you actually go through with this we'll definitely have to meet up sometime and have a little fun, get a photoshoot going, etc.

I've had a blast here and have learned quite a few things, there are definitely a lot of knowledgeable people here (not to mention a lot of nice cars). I've already learned quite a bit and met a few really cool people, and I've only been to one local meet so far.

Anyways, I'll let you get back to your search for knowledge. Enjoy your stay bud.

  4. I'm really excited about this car to be honest. I've never been much of a hyundai/kia fan until lately and now that they've gone so far up in quality I would almost be willing to put money on them being direct competitors with toyota/lexus in the future. My parents picked up a kia sorento not too long ago and when they told me I rolled my eyes and wondered why, but when I got into it I was really surprised at how nice it is. I definitely will be checking out my local hyundai dealer whenever it comes time to buy my next new car.

What im hearing from my Hyundai DPSM is the coupe will be very very close looking to the concept. But the coupe will not get a V8, and the sedan will only be an Automatic.

The whole thing behind this has been going back and forth. I've been following the genesis coupe for a while now and they've gone from saying that they'll offer a v8 & v6 to saying that they'll offer a turbo 4 & n/a 4 to saying that they'll offer a turbo 4 and v6. I think that it would be awesome to have a v8 in the sports model, but at the same time it will be aimed towards the tuner crowd and they want 4 bangers all day long. Either way I think that it will be a hit since it will be a new offering that looks great and will be rwd.

Sorry for the long post, have a 7up party:

    :mparty:

  5. My current daily driver is a bare bones 2005 honda civic coupe. When I baby it I always get around 40mpg and after putting 50+k miles on it I have yet to have a single problem. I would go with the civic I were you simply because of reliability and great gas mileage. As long as you don't drive it like most kids do (not calling you a kid, I'm just saying) you probably won't have any problems from the police.

But to be fair, I'll be handing this car over to my girlfriend as soon as my 82 zx is done(ish), then I'll be using that as my daily driver and keeping our 94 olds cutlass supreme for whenever that's going under the knife.

  6. :cough: ah ha a ahem...

So... Got any pics of this mystery header firm?

Haha. I was having fun reading through the interior debate.. So much fun that I think I might add to it. I personally like the red - to an extent. I mean there is such a thing as too much red and this is it IMO. I would like to change out some of the interior with black so that it will be half and half red & black but I guess we'll see.

As far as the mystery header, no pics yet. I've had the flu for what seems like a month now (more like 5 or so days) or I would go out and snap a pic real quick. It's definitely on my to do list because I would like to know if it's even worth it.

Thanks for the comments for all those that have. :burnout:

  7. Not a bad deal at all. Sure is nice to have it drivable isn't it though? If you follow the trend around here that won't last long.

    Nice car though.

There's a 79' for $500 that runs listed on craigslist... really making me itch.

There was a thread posted up on here that linked to a craigslist ad for an orange 260z that makes me mad. I personally love the looks of s30's a bit more, but my mom had a turbo 280zx when I was a kid and I've wanted one every since so when it came time to replace my girls car I just picked this up instead. :D

The plan is to get this thing in the condition that I want and give my girl my '05 civic to drive every day. I know there are a lot of people here that are against boosting the l28e, but I still think that that's what I would rather do. I don't have the means to swap an engine (no garage ftl) so it would be a lot easier for me to just run a lower level of boost with mostly bolt ons than it is to swap in the l28et.

I would like to go with a twin supercharged v8 (ala koenigsegg) in a widebody 280z in the future. Dreams are dreams, eh?

Good deal man. Makes me sad when i see a z with a straigh body, i wrecked mine on thursday. so its not perfect anymore. but congrats on the buy!

Man, that's terrible. Any plans to rebuild?

  8. Well, I've been around the site for a while now but haven't posted any pics so I figured that I would now, especially since today was the first time that I've actually been able to drive it. I picked it up back in November and it had a completely blown clutch and a toasted ignition switch/lock cylinder. Being a broke college student with 2 other cars (one of them that decided to break down right when I was about to buy parts for the z) I just got the trans back in today from replacing the clutch and having the flywheel resurfaced.

Anyways, it's an 82 n/a with mystery headers on it. The exhaust was completely rusted on so we just cut it off from the headers back.. Saying that this thing is loud would be an understatement from hell, lol.

So here's the pics.. I picked it up for $500 and I think that it's an awesome deal.

So, what do you all think? I think I got a damn good deal personally..

  9. Well I guess I can sign in here. I picked up my first z (82 280zx n/a) a couple of months ago. So far things are going slow as christmas, but I'll hopefully have it up and running soon.

This is a great place and I've already learned a lot by reading through the posts here, I'm glad to be a part of the community.

  10. I agree that the biggest hurdles that your going to run in to with that swap would be axels, and I'll add motor mounts. You'll have to get those custom fabbed and I know a little bit less than nothing about that motor so that's about all that I can offer in the way of help.

If your friend decides to do a more traditional honda swap then I can probably help out a bit more.

  11. Man that's a great vid. I wish that I would've been able to talk to Chris a bit Thursday @ the meet. I know that when I drove by the gas station by my house and saw his car for the first time I ran a red light to make an illegal u turn because I had to see it up close.

    That is a beautiful beast.

  12. I like the fact that he actually went through with an idea like that, looks like it would be quite a bit of work. On top of that it shows me how much better they look without the plastic vent piece in between the windows, which I really dislike. The color is nice too.

To each their own.. At least it doesn't look as bad as a primer civic with 2 park benches on the back. Basically it's not horrible..

  13. Does look a little funny but other than that I think this is a gorgeous progression of the corvettes design.

    I totally agree.

    :flame suit on:

I really do not like any of the last models of vettes. To me the last beautiful vette was the split window vette, since then it's just been made faster and uglier every year. That being said I think it sucks that now that they've finally figured out a direction to take that would actually make this body style look good they won't be able to do it for long.

I always figured that GM would come back around and make a vintage style vette like they're doing with the new Camaro, but I guess we'll never make it that far. I would love to be a Corvette fan too because (looks aside) those are some seriously badass cars.
