  1. laern how to read your plugs. start with a 75 shot run a pass as soon as your done turn your car off take your plugs out and examine them. this can tell you lots of things, to lean, detonating, etc. then if everything is good pull a degree or how ever many, step up the shot to a 100 run another pass and repeat. as for the stand alone fuel system i agreee way over kill for a 150 shot just make sure your pump can keep up.
  2. at first i saw it and was excited because i thought you were doing a twin turbo carb motor then i saw fuel rails after the tears stopped i took a second look and said all well it looks darn good though! hope we get to see some video
  3. doing my drag car independent. planning on putting six to seven hundred to the ground with n2o. it's far from done but it's different
  4. ok a bit of background iam building a 510 drag car v8 No2 blah blah any ways iam keeping it independant in the rear just because it's different i finally decided on coilovers got the strange adjustables well i tube framed the rear of the car and put in a q45 diff built new shock towers and tubbed it. also bought some 300 zx rear hubs and now it's time to build the knuckles, controll arms and do brakes so my questions 1: what brakes should i go with? it is gonna be a drag car with some light street driving but will need to be able to stop after hopefully a single digit 1/4 mile run basically i want to stay as cheap as i can in the rear but also work so maybe some stock replacment z32 rotors and calipers from ebay? since the car will likely weigh 2000 or under 2: half inch plate will be thick enough for the knuckles right? with proper gusseting. 3: controll arms, should i do just one lower or do a lower with a narrower top one also. and if i do just a lower i dont use the hiem rod ends that pivot do i? i get the ones that dont pivot. well what if i do a lower with a smaller upper do i use the pivoting hiem joints were in attaches to the knuckle or the ones that dont pivot? thanks for the help. it seems like people here mostly build for road course but i have seen some drag racers here so any help will be appreciated
  5. i did read that post very helpfull since iam looking at that for direction in building my own knuckle and what not. i picked up some 300zx rear hubs off ebay for good price and some strange coilovers for the rear. now iam just making the shock towers before i start on the knuckles and the controll arms i have to make. thatnks for all the info.
  6. looking for a 5 lug rear hub setup tha can handle a v8 and slicks. 300zx? i kknow some of the vendors have new stub axles but kinda pricey for my budget. any one have any suggestions. no rules on them having to fit the 510 because the back of the car is being redesigned just need something strong enough at good price then i will make them fit. any suggestions. thanks
  7. ok pretty set on the strange single adjustable shocks with the qa1 springs found the set for 399 for the rears. is this a good price? they offer 80lbs-150lbs springs for their rear set up. which ones would be best for me? what rates are you guys using for the rears?
  8. ya it's a 510. iam using u q45 diff and making my own controll arms and all and just not sure of a spring rate to go with for the rears. also any one have any experience with the new hubs that modern motorsports has? am i allowed to use thier name on here?
  9. so i am looking for some coilovers to use in the rear. iam re doing the whole back of the car, big tubs, Q45 diff, so no rules on coilovers, iam keeping it independant cause i want it to handle some what well in some twisties but it is mainly a weekend drag car. coming from the front wheel drive camp just looking for some direction in suspension.
