  1. With the wealth of knowledge on this site, why can't somebody design a "safe, street-friendly" cage that can be bolted in or if need be welded? I for one, would purchase plans or if made available, a cage, if it was reasonably priced. Inquiring minds want to know... Mark
  2. Sorry, but I couldn't let this thread die!
  3. While I do not doubt that a straight gear driven centrifugal will produce more power the fact remains that they are "REALLY LOUD", not what most people desire in a daily driver. The Rotrex appears to be designed for reliable operation since it uses no gears, but planet rollers giving silent operation and less vibration. I'll take silent reliable operation over "screechy" loud any day! Mark
  4. Take a look at the Rotrex. http://www.rotrex.com/ Supposed to be super quiet, relatively inexpensive and 98 efficient. Big name OEM's use them too! Mark
  5. Here is a new electric motor that should change things, if it ever gets to production. http://peswiki.com/index.php/Directory:Millennial_Motors_Inc:Magnetronic_Motor Mark
  6. I'm not sure, but I know that there are kits for BMW's and others. See the dealer list at the Rotrex site. Mark
  7. Anybody here know anything about these? http://www.rotrex.com/ Mark

  11. You know what is funny? I married an "old fashion" girl that prepares all my meals, maintains the housekeeping with the help of our four children, home schools all four children and makes sure she has time for me. How about that! Mark
  12. Congratulation Alex, Japan is a blast, even if the US dollar isn't worth squat. Have some Kobe beef if you get the chance. Mark
  13. Imagine if you put magnets on the outer rotating assemble and then put a sleeve over it with windings, now you can generate electricity! Mark

  16. Found this while researching for a propane conversion. Seems like a nice turn-key setup. http://www.technocarb.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=26&Itemid=84 Apparently Technocarb can build any size 4bbl carb for your system. Here is an interesting LPG tank design that should make a conversion easier. http://www.icomnorthamerica.com/toroidal.html Mark
  17. Read the FAQ's from their site: As a recreational craft we recommend a ceiling of 50 feet, but the AirScooter is not limited to that altitude. Mark

  19. Battery weight, capacity & recharge time has always been the problem when it comes to EV's. But there are some new technologies around the corner, like Nickel/Zinc batteries that actually last. NiZn batteries can deliver 30% more power and increased energy density, as well as reduced size, weight and cost. Here are two companies and their claims. http://www.greencarcongress.com/2008/05/powergenix-intr.html http://www.xellerion.com/ But the one that has a lot of people wondering is a company called EEStor. They claim to have developed a ultracapacitor using ceramics. http://peswiki.com/index.php/Directory:EEStore
