  1. The only thing that matters is the OBDII certification number that's laser etched onto the cats housing. You have that number and it will not be contested. Cat or pipe size doesnt matter. You can still retrofit universal cats to OEM specific applications so long as that number is in place for CA certification.

I did not know that. So I could put say a 3" exhaust system in and as long as I use a 3" universal cat that is CARB approved its all cool?

  2. Heres the smog certificate.

    Wow. who would have thought.

My stock 77 280 has a pretty fresh rebuild on it and was not quite that clean when I had it smogged a few months ago.

So what were the final specs on this engine? 10:1 and the 480/.480. Duration(In/Ex): 274/274 cam?

  3. Hi Dan,

    Thanks for the info.

Is it possible to change "service/ update" mode time sometime later? Like wise 2:00am (PST) majority people is sleeping...

It's frustrating every night when I want to access to this site.

I bed you can make it automated process.

    Regards,

    tamo3

I would like to but unfortunatly I cannot.

Our hosting company sets the time for when nightly server backups run, around midnight PST.

I have to schedule the server to do a database dump and do some other things that needs to be completed before the backup window opens.

The backup is not what causes the site to timeout, its the database dump that kills the site. Our database has become so large that it takes a while to dump it all and sucks the life out of the server in the process :)

  4. The naughty word filter seems to be stuck in overdrive.  I've seen a few

posts with harmless words partially redacted and after a bit of head scratching

I realised that the redacted part was usually a word that would make a seven

    year old giggle.

Example of a rotory engine- wankel

    It should be fixed now.

  5. Not a huge deal, but I'm finding that the second level of the quick links at the top of each post, like the one that says

HybridZ → General → Site Support

at the top of this post doesn't work. In other words, the link to the levels called "Technical", "General", etc appear to be broken.

I've seen this in Chrome and IE9 under Win7

Yeah, I do not know why it does that. I have yet to find a setting that controls it. :hs:

  6. The one outstanding issue that I still know of is slowness when making new posts or using PM.

After you hit "Post new Topic" it seems to just hang. Most of the time it will post but either takes forever or does not update the screen with the new information. I will be working on that later tonight.

I did some database tuning last night that seems to have resolved this. If you are still seeing really slow post times please let me know.

    Thanks!

    Dan
