  1. Hi All,

Please reply to this post if you are having any issues with the new forum software.

If you get any error messages please post that also as it helps alot.

The one outstanding issue that I still know of is slowness when making new posts or using PM.

After you hit "Post new Topic" it seems to just hang. Most of the time it will post but either takes forever or does not update the screen with the new information. I will be working on that later tonight.

    Thanks,

    Dan

  2. In Google Chrome on XP, all of the pictures show as broken (the cracked picture icon) on this thread - http://forums.hybrid...230-diff-mount/

Clicking on a picture link just gets the spinning wheel. The pictures used to show up fine on my system, in the thread and clicked open, before.

But in this thread - ... small pictures in the thread blew up to a good size and looked fine when clicked on.

Edit - Firefox and IE8 give similar results to Chrome.

Should be fixed now. Thanks for the heads up.

  3. Sup HybridZ. I'm sorta new. I know my first post here (or second) shouldn't be pointing out a flaw or problem but here it goes.

I do alot of graphic design on the side and, the forum is very blue. The banner at the top of the forums (though showing off the logo) does not do the forum justice. Would you care if I made a few and submitted them to admins? Its buggin' the crap out of me.

    Also, Hello HybridZ <3

Sure, I suck at and hate doing graphics stuff.

  4. JCI's engine mount for the passenger side has a bolt hole that lines up with the hole in the crossmember tower. I did not see in JCI's manual where this called to be bolted together like the driver's side. I re-read the manual a few times and searched Hybridz but to no avail. It seems to me that this should be bolted up or else the mount itself will flex.

Yes, put a bolt in it.

I started work on the transmission tunnel as well and took a few measurements to locate the area on the tunnel requiring clearance for the 4L60E. I know that it is the servo housing on the transmission the requires the tunnel to be clearanced. The area I've identified is shown in the picture below outlined by the red ellipse. Does this look correct? How far up from the bottom of the tunnel must be clearanced? I do not know the relative position of the trans bottom to the tunnel bottom. The archives talk about clearancing the tunnel but mainly focus on the T56; those threads that discuss the 4L60E make no mention of the area nor provide a picture showing.

Here is a pic of my 72 with a 4L60E and were I cut to make clearence for the pan and servo.

Also keep in mind, the cooler fittings are real close depending on the type of elbows you use and need clearencing too.

  5. Haha. I feel a bit sheepish.

I kept typing in "LC-1" because that's how I write it.

"LC1" [No hyphen] delivered many results. Not sure why it won't recognise the hyphen.

Why wouldn't it find that?

    It's fixed... I think.

  6. Love this site. Hate the 60 second Flood Control. If you get no hits on a query you have to wait 60 seconds to try another. 60 seconds is eternity in today's internet world.

Any way to shorten it 15 or even 10 seconds? I don't have the patience to even do a search to help someone else out.

    Not sure what you mean?

Flood control is set to (in seconds) for each group as:

    Donating Members: 0

    Members: 15

    Guests: 60

Make sure you are logged in before you search ;)

  7. So I ordered this from MSA last night: http://www.thezstore...ZS/PROD/10-2139

Got an email today saying that they are out of stock, and it will take 6-8 week to get them in.

Anyone know of a place to get one similar to this? (in both price and design)

I wasn't sure if i should have put this in the wanted section or here, but i figured it would be a good resource for someone with a similar question.

I have one of those, brand new in the box never used. PM me if your interested in it.

  8. nope, but if the police station looks to see that you have all of the smog stuff removed then they can give you a ticket for that.

Not true, all they have to do is suspect it is a gross polluter. A small puff of black or blue smoke, stinky smell, strange engine sound etc. Has nothing to do with being smog exempt. In California smog exempt is an incorrect term BTW, your 72 240Z with a 2JZ, Rb25, SR20, LM7 or whatever can be sent in to have a smog inspection at any time.

kinda weird though that he gave you a ticket on the spot, how does he know that you are polluting? did he have a tail pipe tester in his car?

They do not have to prove anything to you.

    'd fight it.

And go before a judge who did not get laid the night before and turn a fix it ticket into the possibility of a smog check or referee inspection?

Just fix the smoke problem and find a police officer to sign it off.

6 degrees of separation says that you can find someone who knows one that will sign it off for a few beers and some fish and chips at the local Irish pub.

  9. So I was driving around in my 71 240z when a cop car started following me, I made sure I didn't do anything wrong, but i guess he saw a bit of smoke pop out of my tailpipe after i left a stop sign. pulls me over and gives me a fix it ticket for being a gross polluter with excessive exhaust smoke. I know it sometimes smokes a bit when i start from stop (burning oil) but he told me to show another officier after i fix the problem, and show him my smog certificate...... i told him my car is exempt, and he was like " oh... well just show him its not smoking anymore and pay the deduced $25 fine."

I live in san francisco, california

can an officier give me a ticket for being a gross polluter even though i'm smog exempt?

    thanks

    Yes.

  10. Kinda interested in this thread.

Question Jon, in this picture is the suspension compressed at it's normal ride height?

    post-553-12680059209888.jpg

The reason I ask is because at full bump what prevents the turn buckle from rotating outward and contacting the tire? Or is it not going to compress enough to matter?

  11. I'm sure that part of the message slowdown is due to just getting used to the change of format. However, regardless of what some have said, I think many of us find the new format less user friendly - especially the lack of message rollover popup that used to lure us into message threads as we scrolled the unread new messages.

That is in the top 3 most requested features for this software. The developers are adding it into the new version of the software but I will not be released for a few more months. :(

I could have sworn I saw an app somewhere that adds that into the current version we are running now, Ill take a look and see if I can find it and install it.
