  1. are the drive shaft flanges interchangeable?? from r180 to r200?? bc it seems that that's what I have a r200 differential with a r180 flange.
  2. yeah stock, I have been looking into something stronger. I have heard that the r200 will hold the power, and I just need to upgrade the haft shafts. but a little worried about the dif I wont lie lol. I should be around 425 to the wheel and I was going to do a 100 shot on roll races.
  3. Sorry should have posted more details. so the trans is a t56, the differential is a r200 limited slip, I am using a stock Datsun u joint that's what it had when I got it. I bought the car with the swap done, but the ls1 blew up so I put the 6.0 in it. so I am not sure what the driveshaft is. I am got to pull it back out today.
  4. I need a adapter for a much larger u joint on my drive shaft. can anyone tell me where I can get one??
  5. 1982 280zx started as a stock ls1 swap, now it has a brand new lq4 with forged flat top pistons, 233/236 cam dual springs and hardened pushrods, ls1 241 ported heads. t56 6 speed trans with monster stage 3 clutch. r200 limited slip with 373 gears. Rota 17in wheels with 275 nt05r drag radials.
  6. thank you for the reply. I found the issue, I am an idiot. Where I did the ls swap my ecu is mounted up by the headlights and when I was wiring up my tachometer I must have unplugged a connector that is mounted by my ecu. thanks again.
  7. So for some reason my headlights will not turn on. When I go to turn them on my tail lights, and my side marker light work but no head lights. had anyone had this issue??
  8. so It is a beast that's for sure. I cut the springs in the back and it lowered it to fix the camber issue. and I have 275 nt05r drag radials on it at the moment and it hook really well. but I didn't want to keep it with cut springs so I am just looking for a better than stock replacement. it just doesn't seem like there is much out there unless you are spending 1500 to 2k on it. or you have to piece everything together. the only thing I have fond for a full kit is out of stock everywhere.
  9. I have been reading a lot about this, and I should have stated this, I am not going to be running autocross this car is going to be more for a straight line car driven every once and awhile, to go out and have fun. most everything I read about is more suited for road racing.
  10. 82 280zx, car has a lq4/t56 swap, I am kind of maxed out on budget and I need new shocks and spring for the car. I was looking at the ones below but I don't know if that's the best choice for my setup. also the car had a ls1 in it before, and when I did the swap it lowered the front end (to be expected do to the weight difference) but it raised my ass end up( didn't expect that). the motor is all the way back to where the transmission bell housing, is pretty much touching the fire wall, so I am unsure why it would do that. any help would be great this is my first Datsun, so I am unfamiliar with the quirks they have. I have loaded a picture to show the raise in the ass end. http://thmotorsports.com/i-526869.aspx?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_content=5268691982NISSAN280ZX&utm_campaign=GoogleShoppingSeanVehSpec&adtype=pla&kw=&gclid=CJnVm_LR5b4CFXMA7AodxkgA7A
  11. To let you know how bad it was, it set up 5 1/2 inches over the back tires. and the front was 1/2 an inch
  12. i am fine with the way the front end sets, and i am guessing it is that low bc the springs are old. but i do need to lower the ass end bc it had it cambered to much. for now i cut my springs to make it look ok. but i don't want to keep it that way.
  13. Hi everyone, I am new to this site, so this probably has be covered, but I am need some good shocks/springs for my car. When I put the LQ4 in it smashed my front end and raised my ***end. I am mostly doing straight line, but wouldn’t mind getting into the autocross as well. I am not wanting to send 2k on coil overs, I just want something that can hold the weight and power better.
  14. Yeah i am noticing that you cant find any write ups on straight axle swaps. I might just keep the IRS i have been reading that the R200 holds pretty good. If i do deside to do a swap i will do a write up on it.
  15. Hey Everyone, I am new to this site, and was reading about your ls swap. I have a 83 280zx with a lq4 with ported 241 heads, 233/239 595/603 cam and a t56 trans. i am trying to find a write up on a straight axle swap, can anyone help me out??
