  1. Cutting a close fitting cutout may prove difficult depending on how brittle the old plastic is and how the strut bar body comes off the strut top. Perhaps wrapping the whole thing in leather vinyl with a velcro flap would allow for a finished look without having to worry about the cuts?
  2. Join the Facebook group 'Datsun Makers Group', if they don't already have it they may actually be able to produce the 3D model from scratch.
  3. I wonder if he has the oil pan I've been looking for??
  4. The 280zx remote oil cooler adapter takes the place of the standard L series oil filter stud. Fortunately the stud is cheap and straightforward to install. You need this: 15213-21001 STUD-OIL FILTER
  5. Garrett, I'm in the same boat, perhaps if our needs align we can help each other out? Looking for an LD crank for a friend and a winged mid/rear sump oil pan for myself. Let me know.
  6. They would. Only problem was it looked like the engine had been used as a boat anchor and it was in Spain. The shipping wasn't all that unreasonable, but all things considered I'd rather hold out for something cleaner and closer, or at least one if the two.
  7. Bump Found a few, but too far and too rusty.
  8. Not my photo, but my Photobucket account (Rayaapp2's photo/vehicle/cat). If anybody does import any of these blocks, and just happens to get an oil pan like the one pictured (winged/rear sump) I would be interested in buying it. Assuming of course, you don't use it yourself... In to see the stroker progress too, so please excuse the shameless plug!
  9. It lasts 1 year... I know it is posted in the rules somewhere, but had had a hard time finding it.
  10. Then take a portion of the money from the bank and spend it on making the Z faster than a Viper! Win-win.
  11. Virtual flow bench, and the ability to CNC the chambers perhaps...?
  12. I'm pretty sure the was talk of being able to see (or possibly chip at) the flashing via the plugs on the top of the heads. Perhaps a comparison of your pristine and crusty head might be possible that way? Endoscopes are getting pretty cheap on Ebay...
  13. Did some cross-referencing and came up with 12309-29S00 which lends itself to the theory that it was simply incorrectly transcribed theory. Can anyone verify this is indeed correct? I came across a few threads mentioning JeffP's page and the incorrect part number, I'd like to get the correct one on here so we can put this one to rest. Edit: Thank you for verifying Sam, looks like this is indeed the correct part #.
  14. Sam, I'm only seeing the washer and it's part number which is already posted. We're you intending to share the bolt part number? Edit: Thanks for adding the bolt image to the library Sam.
  15. Seems like the part number for the bolt may have been transcribed incorrectly on JeffP's site. For reference, the Volvo part number is 1336822, which appears to be correct. The Nissan part number referenced is 12309-29500 which doesn't even appear to be an obsolete number... I'll continue to research, but I don't anticipate actually ordering this for some time. Perhaps someone who has done this could verify the correct part number?
  16. Thank you, don't go out of your way on behalf, whenever it's at your convenience. I don't really consider that a viable plan either, I'm mostly just curious how it was done from the factory. When the time comes that I'm actually ready to assemble the new engine I'll either have found one of these or fabricated my own. My preference is to use the factory piece, it's a baseless preference but it is there all the same. It would just be more satisfying, if less efficient. I'm sure as well. Thank you again!
  17. Pallnet, Did you get either of these pans? If so could you possibly take a few more detailed photos than what you see on the web? I'm curious how the wings are attached, and how the the hole in the pan body is cut to accommodate them.
