  1. agreed... a smarter approach would be a peice of fishing line on a weight
  2. I can't go into full details as the design is a collaboration. But basically the throttles are yoked together using a purpose built endplate and linkage. The throttle cable is on the firewall (see me grabbing it in the video). There are multiple approaches to the throttle issue, all of them requiring some fabrication. I chose this option not because it was technically the best but it was definitely the cleanest. EFI is meant to be clean without springs and linkages going everywhere like on carbs so it kept it simple accordingly. -pete
  3. Some crappy iphone photos as teaser ...and a teaser video thanks to my housemate I'm still doing alot of tuning on this setup but its coming along nicely. -pete
  4. Take the spark plug out and fill the cylinder with fluid at BDC untill it is about to flow out the plug hole. then multiply the volume used by 6 after subtracting ~20 ml for gasket and partial CC volume. Then agian... *I* wouldn't do that...
  5. So why can't the OP swap his injectors? I mean... it would probably be prudent for us to ask why do you think you need bigger injectors? But aside from running rich as dogs breath because of choosing the wrong injectors (bigger ain't better) it seemed you were implying there was a practical limitation to the ECU driving alternative injectors. zedman... what are the full details of your motor (head/block/turbo/ecu/FP and pressure) and what evidence do you have to suggest you need aftermarket injectors (AFR's detontation or anedotes)? Cheers, -pete *edit* It sounds like snow would be more qualified to answer this question an I but I don't think stock L28et injectors should not be a hindrance to you running that HP.
  6. Question: how is it acceptable to increase fuel pressure but not acceptable to increase injector size? I've never bothered to mess around with the stock ecu as aftermarket units are much more tunable but out of curiosity it seems the net effect would be the same. A greater pressure differential = more flow right? So why would it be okay to run the stock injector at greater than stock flow rates but not an aftermarket injector of comparable flow ASSUMING you correct to circuit resistance appropriately? -pete
  7. its a really big air conditioner for the inside of your engine.
  8. Stick with it. Wiring appears overhwelming at first but after a while becomes second nature. The first time I did wiring work I felt up to my neck too... it didnt take too long before the idea of making a new loom in a day off is as simple and mundane as doing the laundry -pete
  9. alas... it's true: this is not one of the fabled 3.3litre seven cylinder L-series engines
  10. have this running... i'll try and get a video soonish... GTR itb's are 45mm. The induction noise is angry -pete
  11. Pics should work. FYI. I don't think it can be done neatly without a fair amount of machining. I've seen it done before but very messily and injector mounting is a bit of bother - custom fuel rail etc was required. -pete
  12. Hi all, I thought it'd post of some pictures of my "homemade" itb install. It was an idea my brother and i had some time ago about using gtr throttle bodies on a converted mikuni/weber manifold. The thought being i'm too young for carburetors, love efi and am too poor for extrudeabody prices. all up the setup cost ~$500 in parts and machining but requires alot of labour, planning and generous machining time. it has come together nicely me thinks and i thought i'd share some install photos its been ages since i posted here! i hope everyone is still having fun. -pete
  13. ...why on earth is he still running injector fans?
  14. Tony, To my understanding the 77' 330 nissan cedric had no turbo option... ? Even in japan I've seen very few turbo cedrics, some y30s i think had a turbo option? Cheers, Pete
  15. I couldn't figure out the policy on 330's when I was there... I went to the JCCA meet in tokyo this year and saw just one 330 in boring paint and stock trim... I was wondering where all the cedrics were... (mind you there was heaps of 60's models)
