  1. Looking for a lonewolf intake manifold or a custom substitute. Appearance is not a concern. Will pay the correct price for the part. Thanks guys!
  2. I need an exhaust manifold from an l28et, distributor, oil lines, oil pan, and possibly megasquirt or some aftermarket ecu but I doubt anyone is selling. Let me know!!
  3. I'll take photos today. I had purchased new rockers for the new cam and kept the old rockers in order in case I needed to go back to the old cam. They are in good shape and will be back on the lobes they came from.
  4. Newzed hit the nail on the head. Injectors were stuck open. Took a little head scratching and plenty of wtf's but after changing the dropping resistors out for another set and the ignition transistor (not sure if that's the actual name) and cleaning all wiring harness grounds the problem is fixed. Now, after I ran the car, I wiped out the new schneider cam....so back went in the old stock cam, only to find the rockers hit the top of the valve springs. Is there supposed to be a shim under the valve springs or did my machine shop add these without me knowing?
  5. Hello all. A few specifics first. I just got finished rebuilding my n42 head n42 block with schnieder 270-80f cam. Stock bosch e.f.i., stock injectors, pallnet fuel rail, 6-1 header, head shaved, kameari adjustable cam pulley. Now the issue is I am trying to get it to start (it ran on all of this before engine rebuild) and it will only start with the fuel pump unplugged and when the fuel pressure gauge hits 0. I want to properly break in the cam so I only let it run for a second or 2 and as soon as I plugged the pump back in it died. My thought is time get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, or maybe swap the old fuel rail back in which I don't want to do. Please any similar situations, or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Has anyone else noticed how many extremely clean z's there are on instagram from the middle east? I follow along bunch of pages from there and theyou have some of the cleanest original cars around!
  7. Thank you guys for your response! I'll respond when I'm home from work and give it another shot. If not I saw jegs sells a 4 wheel one for a reasonable price
  8. I am rebuilding my l28 from my 78 280z, and I seem to be lost on how to mount it to the engine stand I purchased. Yes, there is a good possibility I am clearly over looking something, but I can't seem to get it! Feel free to ridicule me, as long as you help me figure it out. I have done top end rebuilds before but never needed to put an engine on a stand to do the bottom end. Hopefully you don't look at this as foolish and pass it by! The stand is an autocraft from advance auto and is very similar to the 3 legged autozone and harbor freight ones if anyone has any direct experience. Thank you in advance!
  9. I need a 280z headlight switch, mine is all kinds of messed up and pops the running light fuse immediately upon turning the knob. Josh!
  10. My center console is garbage and Im looking for a decent servicable one. Doesnt have to be perfect but I prefer it to not be all cracked up like mine lol. Thanks, Josh
  11. SI have a v8 280z that i have for sale right now (craigslist only my 20 dollar posting subscription ran out ill give you the link if you want to check it out) and I originally wanted something newer and was going to dump both of my cars and get a 90's 300zx. But ive decided Ive owned my z for 5 years and I know how to work on these cars so why not make a super cool daily drver. ANYWAYS... If someone is looking for a v8 z and would want to trade there series one STOCK Z (depending on condition a little cash on top) I would be more than happy!! Just looking for something really stock, preferably a daily already but if you have something in good condition i've got so many parts i can fix it up to daily driven quality. 240-260z only...no 2+2's and no automatics. Just figured I'd put it out there Im trying to get as much coverage with my z listing and purchase as possible. Not sure if its okay to put details about my car (for possible trade) in here so inquire via pm, email, or 8606820133 , but a really quick description is 78 280z, 350, T5 camaro 5spd clean interior, tokiko's, 002 xxr's, new tires, bushings..etc. Since of course this is the cars WANTED section, I am looking for a series 1 z no matter a trade or not! Let me know guys!! Josh
  12. I so badly need an 82 l28et distributer, used and cheap but working condition please
  13. *I forgot to mention the car has a violent backfire issue when decelerating in gear. I did some reading on that and mostly found everyone saying its okay just run it that way but when I decelerate for 5+ seconds at 1500 or more rpms I get what sounds like somebody shooting a .44 handgun out of my exhaust.* *Also when I press on the throttle very slightly while driving around, I dont get a consistent amount of power. Its very minimal, and if I'm not paying attention its barely even noticeable but it will deliver power then hesitate then power then hesitate.* Gollum- Yes the afm is new to this setup, its also a completely new unit from motorsport auto. Its got the CAS on the distributer and I believe its an 82 distributer. Its a brand new stock coil. Yes, the engine ran pretty solid before the rebuild, always pulled hard right to redline. It never had any of these running issues. Newzed- Its the ECCS for the turbo motor, sorry for the confusion. The rrfpr is hooked up for when I want a couple more psi of boost, but right now its adjusted to add no extra fuel. The injectors are newish stock turbo injectors. The afm is a new turbo afm for the turbo ECCS The timing is super advanced. The timing mark at idle is so far advanced its down below where you can see it, thats what I meant by abyss. I wish I could give you some real numbers but its not visible until I rev the engine, at which point the timing mark will just start to appear but not actually move up to the 'timing reference chart'. Also if I try to bring the rpms up and hold them at any point the mark will be so far advanced it wont be visible.
  14. Well yes that is all you need on the coil bracket. I need to go check on the other questions for you before I can answer them.
  15. So I will preface by saying, 1978 280z, rebuilt 1982 F54 with a new datsun parts llc p90a head, o.g. ECCS efi, new-ish stock injectors, turbonetics t3/t4 new motorsport auto AFM, new walbro 255 fuel pump, new BEGI rrfpr. The engine is missing a few things, cold start valve, carbon canistor, and the VAC has all the ports plugged. The engine runs O.K. but I have a few issues. 1. Idle- It idles at nothing but 1k rpms which is too high. Try to set it any lower and it jumps all over the place and wants to die. At 1k it sits right at vac on my boost/vac gauge and sounds pretty nice. I thought these cars idled at like 600-700? Also I'm not sure if running the car with the VAC could be contributing to this? 2. Timing- Its off the chart advanced. When I rev the engine with the light on it the mark comes just about to the most advanced mark on the chart and then dives back to the abyss. I have double checked the timing marks on the crank and chain and they are perfect. I'm thinking maybe the distributer or CAS is bad? 3. WOT- Now this varys just about everytime I put the throttle down. Sometimes, It will pull hard all the way to my 5500 rev limiter with a miniscule amount of black smoke trailing me. Other times it will throw fuel out the tailpipe like a diesel dummy pickup truck. And then lastly, most of the time it pulls hard and then falls flat about 4k rpms. It will still build rpms as long as I keep the throttle down but usually I let off because it feels like its starving for fuel and my narrowband (need a wideband) gauge falls all the way off to the lean side. Im worried that the tank is rusty, but could that be causing all the running issues? Thanks for input, The car has about 1000 miles since the rebuild and its really time to sort out the bugs. I'd like to go megasquirt or haltech but that sits on the back-burner until the money says otherwise. Until then I'd like this ECCS to run the car better considering all the new parts. *I forgot to mention the car has a violent backfire issue when decelerating in gear.
