  1. I am looking for a hatch for my '72 240z.

Doesn't necessarily need to have glass.

    Needs to be rust free.

    White would be a bonus.

I'm in the St. Louis area.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Still need to get a new fuel map done.

    Starts every time, love it.

I had a spare set of 3 screws that I used.

Pulled my 3 screws and got em in a box.

They had recently been rebuilt by

Z-Therapy so didn't want mess with em.

  3. Sorry for the delay.

Tony, it was your endorsement that convinced me to go this route....Thanks.

It was not as easy as it seems, but if I could do it most people could.

Turned out to be a very clean install in my opinion. Starts right up everytime. Idles high and drops just like it's supposed to. Only issue is after running a data log it seems I'm running lean.

Checked everything, can't seem to locate any issues. Any ideas?

  4. I've  got a '72 240z by the way.

Hadn't thought of putting it there.

I was going to put it on the PS fender.

I'm planning on making some brackets for the 2 fuel lines and mount them in the stock location over to the carbs.

May do braided, not sure yet.

Think you could post a couple pictures?

    Thanks again.

  5. Larry.

Installing a larger fuel line was the hardest part for me to this point.

    Swapped my 240 fuel tank for a '75 280.

Getting ready install the kit next.

Where did you mount the pressure regulator?

How did you route your fuel lines?

    Thanks for the response Larry.

  6. Anyone have the adjustment plate for the distributor?.....for a '74 260z.

I'm swapping my distributor in my '72 240z with one from a 260z.

The one from the 240z does not fit.

    Thought they were the same.

The mounting screw in the adjustment plate does not line up.

I do not need the whole distributor.

    Thank you.

  7. Went ahead and got a new gear and countershaft bearing and nut.

    Less than $50.

    Took about 20 minutes

The hardest part was getting the snap-ring

    off.

What would cause this to happen to the reverse idler?

I don't see any evidence of damage anywhere else?.

    Thanks for the help.

  8. I'm doing a 240sx 5 spd swap.

I pulled the rear cover off for inspection. Things look pretty good except for the reverse idler gear.

Can I just replace this without tearing the whole thing apart?

  9. Thanks for the input.

I ended up using 50/50 ATF and diesel fuel.

I figured the detergents in the ATF and oil in the diesel would work well together.

Seems to have cleaned very good.

I still may run some ATF through it anyway.

    Thanks,

    Chris

  10. I am in the process of replacing the input shafts bearing and countershaft bearings in my 5 spd.

My question is can I clean the gears and syncrose while I have the case split.

They are pretty nasty....sat for 20 years.

What could I clean it with?

    Could i use brake cleaner?

    Thanks

  11. Got it.

Ended up drilling a 1/8" hole approximately where I thought would line up......missed it by about 1/16".

Was still able to beat it out.

Had to support the rod to keep it from bouncing.

Had to hit it pretty hard.

    Now....

The hole in the trans. case.

Gonna tap it and loctite an aluminum screw in it.

Thought about an aluminum rivet instead and pean it from bothe sides.
