  1. Yes there has always been fluid in the MC.. P.S. - The fluid I pulled from the rear right bleeder screw was clean fluid.. couldn't be contaminated.
  2. Ok.. here are the deets: 1978 280z w/ SU's Front Disk, Rear Drum 1. When I bought the car, braking would be non existent until the pedal reached near the floor, then it would lock up. I found out that I was missing the Reaction Disk. Reaction disk is now permanently in place on the back of the push rod. 2. After a complete motor build about a year later, it's almost time to get this thing on the road. So I go to inspect the brakes and the pedal is a sponge, and goes to the floor. So I figure, time to bleed the brakes. The front brakes flow very well when I bled them and there was very few bubbles. I proceeded to the rear drums. I was getting very little fluid on both sides. No where near the flow as the front brakes. Why is this?? The fluid in the MC is full. There are no signs of leaks from the proportioning valve. **** I found out I was missing the check valve in between the booster and the intake manifold. How much of a different would this make? (P.S. - Just ordered it so it's on the way to be installed) 3. Here's the kicker. -Front Left Brake: Works perfectly -Front Right Brake: Slight grasp as the pedal is on the floor.. but still easily able to turn the wheel. -Rear Left Brake: No braking at all -Rear Right Brake: No braking at all 4. There is not a single leak that I can see anywhere, and the MC is full of fluid. Pumping the brakes and the MC fluid level stays the same. So I don't see why hardly any fluid is getting to the rear drums! I don't think I left anything out, If I did please let me know. Any help will be greatly appreciated. THANKS!!
  3. Lookin' good man. Good Luck! Can't wait to see more progress.
  4. Have you tried contacting the vendor and have them measure the back to compare with your Mikuni's? Doubt they would put effort into doing that but it's worth a try.
  5. Haha, yeah it was very frustrating at first. Glad they're out now though!
  6. I'm getting rid of Fuel injection, and I was wondering If I need to keep any of the relays located in the relay bracket? I got rid of the fuel pump and I'm using a mechanical. And I got rid of A/C, The last one is the inhibitor switch. I was told it sends information of what gear the transmission is in to the computer. Since I will no longer have a computer, I don't need this one either correct? So can I just rid of the entire relay bracket & all the wiring along with it w/o screwing anything up?
  7. For those wondering, It pops out from the back. There's little plastic ledges that stop it from coming out, so a flat head will take care of those. Then, use a hammer to knock it out. Wala!
  8. Well my problem is finding the other "white/red" wire. As I overlook my wiring, in the Atlantic Z maxi fuse guide they talk about cutting the wire that goes into a "T" shaped plug that plugs into the back of the alternator. They labeled this wire "Main". It is a white/red wire. Is this the wire that goes into the first slot in the maxi fuse block? I'll try to get a picture to show if you don't understand. This is the "T" shaped plug. There is 2 wires. Top wire is the white/red and bottom is a tiny blue wire. The white/red one goes past the firewall into the passenger feet area. Do I snip the top of this wire and route it to position "1" in the maxi fuse block? I can't find another white/red wire so this must be it then huh?
  9. I have read the "http://www.zcarcreations.com/howto/maxifuse.htm" guide and I'm getting stuck around step 19. I have cut and installed the white/red wires into the maxi fuse unit in spots 2,3,4. But I'm lost when it says: "19. The following step involves options. The purpose of this step is to make the electrical connection to your fuse panel inside the car. This is accomplished by connecting the wire labeled Main to the supplied wire that is located at the junction of wire 1 from bottom of fuse center. To locate this wire, follow the red wire 1 from the bottom of the fuse center until the junction is found. Select the smaller wire at the junction. Label this wire New." The guide never told me about where this "red" wire came from! And, Looking at other peoples' maxi fuse setups, they don't even have a red wire. They have another white/red wire in that spot! If anyone can shed some light upon me, that would be great.
  10. I have a question regarding my change: 1978 Datsun 280z retrofitting SU Carbs 1. Can I keep my stock 280z fuel pump if I install a Spectre Fuel Pressure Regulator and SU Fuel Filter? Or Do I need to get a 240z fuel pump? EDIT: Solved. Removed pump completely because I installed the mechanical fuel pump.
  11. Awesome progress, Love to see more pics!
  12. I have no clue.. But with everything put together, there is no gap between the two bushings and the sway bar in the end link. In all other pictures I see the sway bar in an angle between the two bushings..
