Thank you for the reply.
17x8 4.75” equates to a +6mm offset.
Given that guys are running 255/40/17 wheels under stock fenders, 6mm offsets is about what I expected.
Man these wheels look good. I’ve read that they are discontinued?

Keep the updates coming! Looks like a hell of a project.
One-question: The JCI mounts... do these use GM rubber mounts or does the JCI kit come with actual rubber mounts? From your pic I just see metal adapter mounts.
Also, is the JCI trans mount rubber too?
Any kit I buy must be rubber (been there done that and won’t do poly mounts on a street car ever again).

Hi guys... I have a pretty good idea on what to do when it comes to adding power to the 240z.
What I don’t have the best idea about is what structural integrity mods I should be considering to handle a 500rwhp 6.2L LS3.
Given that these cars weren’t designed with that level of power and given that the platform is nearing 50yrs old, i’d like to make consideration for this early on.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Hi guys, I’m hoping you can help me answer a few questions about the 17” Panasport C8 wheels for the Datsun 240z
1.) Who has these wheels and what width/offset are you using?
2.) What tire size are you using?
3.) What does a set of these wheels retail for these days and where can you get them?
These wheels are beautiful and really set a Datsun Z off from the pack.
Thank you for any responses!

I have this love affair with the Datsun Z.
I always noticed them growing up but most of my life have been an avid muscle car enthusiast (classic Camaro/Chevelle/Mustang)
But I have always gravitated back to the Z.
What is it about these cars that is so special for you?
For me:
- body shape is beautiful. The cars look amazing with a slight drop and wider wheels.
- lightweight... not many cars out there that you can get that are sub 2500lbs
- v8 swaps O plenty, lots of kits out there. An LS in one of these makes them gobs of fun.
How did you fall in love with the Z and what made you purchase yours?

15x9 with no rolled fenders? What is the rim offset and do you have any pics? This I have to see...

Thanks and believe it or not, I'm one of the few human beings remaining who doesn't use FB.
I love the bumper stickers I see while driving on the 101 freeway in Silicon Valley "Delete Facebook" lol. -

Hi guys, where do you recommend I order a set of Watanabe wheels?
16x8 0 front
16x8.5 -6 rear
Does anyone have a recommendation? I’d like to use Watanabe directly or utilize a reliable and responsive 3rd party.
thanks

Thanks for the reply.
My goodness, can those items really account for a whopping 700lbs?
-
What are the weight differences between the three and what is driving that difference?
-
Both accounts above are concerning.
Can anyone shed some light on this? Any wheels I by absolutely must be hubcentric.

Thanks for all the replies.
I have experience with both poly motor/trans mounts and poly suspension mounts.
They have their place but I would never put them in a street car ever again.

Those look great... I’m sort of stuck on the Wats but yours are tempting. What you looking to get for em?

I would add in with that Panasport as well, however they only offer the 1pc cast in 16x7".
Panasport 16x7 0-offset also formidable, yes.
But if you wanna break necks, Watanabe

Watanabe 16x8.5 -6 are the holy grail of Datsun Z wheels. Take notice 😀

I'd be interested in a 16x8 0 or 16x8.5 0 in the RKR
-
Looks really unique and cool, but it looks like that is going to be Rub City.

Ok, searching Google I found some threads on HybridZ that cover the set-up above.
It looks like the car belongs to a member here (lolit0) and the wheels are:
Watanabe 16x8.5 -6mm
Front Tires: 205/50/16
Rear Tires: 225/50/16
That's super aggressive sizing for a stock fender car but obviously looks insane if you are willing to go through all the work to get everything to clear. And I use the word "clear" lightly as I'm sure that setup rubs under load.
Lolit0, great looking set-up and my apologies for posting a pic of your car without your permission.
Many of you guys run 16x8 0-offset. Lolit0's set-up pokes ~12mm further than that.
As a side note, Watanabe does offer a 16x8 0-offset for about $600/wheel if you want an easier time with clearance. You don't get quite the dish though.
If Rota made RKR (Watanabe Type R knockoff), in a 16x8 0 or a 16x8.5 0, it would be game over. Sign me up!
Which lowering springs to buy?

How much did you cut off the front springs? That looks a lot lower than the Eibach equipped Zs I’ve seen which tend to look nose high.
