  1. Just dropping back in to say I got a 5 speed transmission put in along with a stage 4 CXP clutch and Fidanza flywheel. Really felt stronger on takeoffs. I'm not sure how much HP I gain from that but it felt much quicker. Now I got her in the shop for some electrical work, fuse relays, Godzilla raceworks Gauges, and possibly a ITB setup.
  2. Replaced the oil pan gasket. Did some 🎨
  3. I couldn’t get my parking brake to engage. The rear pins had slipped out! The cotter pin was missing on the right and the whole pin was missing from the left side. Now it’s 3 clicks and tight. I found the hood cable at a junkyard, installed it, then realized it didn’t work. Now I have to get the hood open somehow...🤦🏻‍♂️ Also so got a carbon fiber dash.
  4. Thanks I traced the wires to where they should go and spotted two TPS wires were in the same post and had a additional black wire attached. I removed the ground looking wire and put them in their respective areas.
  5. Well I couldn’t delete the original thread so I just made a new one 😂

  6. 🤒 Got her about 3 weeks ago. Has quite a bit done already. BC racing coil overs, polyurethane bushings. New brake cylinders, fuel cell, fuel rail, Ford DG508 injectors and a Megasquirt system. She needs bodywork work of course and I need some help cleaning up the wiring and hooking up all the proper gauges. Tach gauge and fuel gauge are both out. I’m also tracking that the fender mirrors are way off😂...trust me Facebook and Reddit have made that clear. I plan on on getting her epoxied and wrapped. Any advice on how long I can leave her epoxied and what I should expect cost wise? Thanks
  7. 🤒 Got her about 3 weeks ago. Has quite a bit done already. BC racing coil overs, polyurethane bushings. New brake cylinders, fuel cell, fuel rail, Ford 508 fuel injectors, full custom straight pipe exhaust &, of course, the Megasquirt system that runs to a crank thingy and O2 sensors. I just switched out the oil pan gasket since it was completely covered in oil underneath. I sprayed it with some heat resistant paint. Bleed the brakes with limited success (still don’t feel good). I installed the noico sound and heat insulation near the shift boot opening and still need to work on adding sound insulation later. Everyone keeps telling me to keep the stock L28 so I plan on just adding a 280ZX Turbo later on. ive read a lot of information here and had some help on Facebook as well. My car knowledge is limited so I’ll be searching the forums for a complete parts listing to turbo her and information on interior parts and installation! Please dont tell me about the fender mirror placement, I’ve heard it enlighten already. I took it to a body work specialist and he said I’d be better off wrapping the car after getting it Epoxied. Does anyone know around what price range I can expect for and epoxy and wrap? And can I just leave it epoxied until I’m ready for wrapping?

  10. Hey thanks for responding. I realize now that I only need the steering column gasket, kick panel, and one seat adjuster lever. I’ll hit you up on pay day since I just did a money dump on bolts a dash kit and leather items
  11. Hi there I recently got a 280Z with Megasquirt and DIYautotune. The wiring was shoddy to say the least and as I was driving the car died. I took a look and 3 fuses had blown. I quickly replaced those. Now it cranks but won’t start.
  12. Hello everyone, New to car projects in general but happy to have gotten this 280Z project off of someone else. I'm not sure how I felt about some of the modifications done to her already, but am still impressed with the ride so far. I've already purchased the Datsun restoration book but am unsure where to begin. I've decide to leave paint and body work to the professionals, but will try my hand at interior restoration like floor soundproofing, dash repairs, and carpeting. I'm not sure how to install the fuel gauge onto my rear fuel cell, which appears to be a 5 gal. I'm also unsure of how I feel about the dual exhaust. The note is quite mean however, which allows me to get looks in addition to her already sexy stance. Any advice would be greatly appreciated before I begin making final decisions on build parts. I do plan on adding a turbo. I'll add video later.
