  1. If I can figure out what manual transmission will bolt up to it, I may get in touch with you.
  2. I've learned so much from just a handful of posts than I've been able to gather up on my own. I think I'm losing my touch on internet searching.
  3. If I can just come up with either an adapter of bell housing for a T56 or Jericho, the transmission might not be a major issue. The only existing after market I've come up with for it are some underdrive pulleys and an ECU flash. That's a think a tad more than the VH45 has going for it right now, but not quite as much as the 5 cylinder Audi and Volvos. Pallnet, I don't have anything yet. Just trying to come up with a short list to keep my eyes peeled for. Right now, I've got nothing but time, which should hopefully allow me the chance to avoid trying to make a 500 pound Gorilla do the job.
  4. Thanks for the link. That's more than I've really been able to come up with so far.
  5. I don't really like posting a new thread that may or may not go anywhere, but I can't/haven't found much info on this subject, here, or anywhere else. From what I've been able to gather, the AJ34S came in both the S-Type, XJR, and XKR, from about 98 to the present. When they first hit the market, they were 4.0L then later were bumped up to 4.2L. I've been all over the board on trying to compile a list of possible engines, and won't likely settle in on any one style or brand until I actually happen across a decent engine at the right time. I know I want to go with an aluminum block to keep the weight down, and I'm pretty sure this engine is. I know anything is possible, so I'm pretty sure that this engine would fit under the hood of an S30 without much fabrication, since it's around the same size as the VH45 and 1/3UZ V8s that I'm noticing more folks using for their swaps. My biggest concern, actually, is finding a manual transmission for the swap. The only other question I've got, is how labor intensive are Jaguar engines regarding maintenance and reliability?
  6. ZQ8Dude, I seem to recall conversing with you on the Colorado Fans site, until I traded mine a couple years ago. My id there was Jacksonwolf. My biggest gripe about the truck then was lack of after market for it. I honestly think that the companies that are willing to make a gamble on it right now, will do quite well when the economy turns around. I had a Z71, and my wife had a Trailblazer. The oil pan on it seemed like it was a bit deeper than the Colorado, but I never really put much thought into it. MAG58, I found that site after I posted that. I also looked into Volvo go fast goodies. With trying to do this project without catching to much flack from my wife on this project, I don't think I'm going to be able to pull off a turbo 5 cylinder swap. Never know though, it might still happen.
  7. Not sure about the Volvo, I'm just really getting back into all this stuff after about 10 years. I've got mucho homework to do. The thought of around 400hp from a 5 cylinder is exciting, regardless. With the GM 5 banger, a person might be able to configure some sort of dry sump setup, and fabricate a cowl induction hood for fix the problem up top. The one shortfall to the GM engine, is there are, or at least were, little to no real after market options for it. By the way, where did you find the info on the Audi 20v?
  8. I've been drooling over a 5 cylinder in one of these cars since having an 04 Colorado. Unfortunately, it's just as tall as the 4.2. However, there are 2 other options, Volvo's 2.5 liter turbo, and the turbo 5 cylinder Audis.
  9. I'm curious to know what kind of after market exists for these engines currently. I'm only in the putting it on paper stage right now.
