  1. I finally got a more accurate digital scale and weighed a few more parts as well as redid some.

    Reaction Research front subtle z fenders(with BMW lights) = 11Lbs 2oz

Reaction Research rear subtle z panels = Drivers side 5Lbs 2oz, Passenger side 5Lbs 8oz

Techno Toy Tuning front adj control arm = 6Lbs

Techno Toy Tuning tc arm = 4Lbs 8oz

Momo race air leather shift knob = 4.5oz

Aeromotive a-1000 fuel pressure reg with Marshall gauge = 1Lbs

Recaro Mitsubishi Lancer evo 9 seat (including the stock sliders and female seat belt receiver) = 36Lbs

  2. In case you don't come across any xxr's, I have some very respectable 280zx six spokers with near new Bridgstone Potenza RE900's with the sidewall nipples still intact. These are far from perfect and have some minor curbing and what not but are definately very decent and come with lugs and center caps. I have some uhaul wardrobe boxes from previous car parts shipped to me. If interested shoot me a pm...

  3. Stony,

I am both happy and stoked for you getting to this point with progress and just a little envious in a good way. This just makes me want to work all the more harder at coming up with the funding for the next step. Congrats and keep the updates coming as they certainly help with motivation...

  4. Here is what I am working with, as well as future plans:

Stock l28et engine rebuilt/warrantied to stock specs by previous owner with only one thousand miles on it. APR head studs-rod bolts, HKS 1mm metal head gasket, Jim Wolf Tech turbo cam and springs, custom oil blow by catch can by hybridz member, Aeromotive a-1000 fuel pressure regulator, Pallnet finned fuel rail, RC 550 injectors, SDS ecu/coils (with 18psi boost map & dyno tuning already performed to a similar engine by previous owner and Hybridz member), port matched stock exhaust manifold-2000* powder coated with external Tial 38mm waist gate, Pallnet larger ex manifold mounting bolts, Turbonetics T3/To4b, 60-1 comp, .82 A/R, stage 5 turbine 2000* powder coated housing, Custom (240Hoke)3" downpipe with external waist gate pipe, Custom (240Hoke)intercooler piping with Tial bov and Treadstone same sided inlet outlet intercooler,K&N conical air filter, Stock non egr or webbed n42 intake manifold ported to match 240sx throttle body and completely ported, BHJ alluminum harmonic damper, Fidanza 10.5lb flywheel, MSA comp oil pan gasket, Arizona Z car alluminum oil pan, new turbo oil pump-water pump sourced from MSA, 1998 s14 5speed trans with only 38k on it, B&M short shifter. Lots of polished pieces currently getting zoop sealed, all of which should be good for 50 horsepower  .

Future plans as funds will allow for include: Head work by Braap, mandrel bent 3" stainless steel exhaust with oval can(Burns,Magnaflow,Borla,Vibrant???), Mckinney Motorsport engine mounts, ACT clutch, DEI titanium turbo wrap for ex mani, turbo and downpipe, ATL black box stock fuel tank combo as written up on here.

  5. Hey Stony,

Thanks for the update, and yeah that nasty green thing in the pic is a pool, or at the time a concrete pond brimming with lots of algae. Do you have a brand name for the panel glue you used. I have been researching some 3m two part adhesive, and am always open for suggestions, opinions, etc...

Unfortunately for me the next step of my build (blast, primer, seam seal, undercoat, apply subtle z panels, paint), is a very costly one requiring some serious savings. I'll enjoy your progress and use it as motivation.

  6. While my car was in the shop having other major surgery, I decided to have the engine bay, front rails and shock towers stitched for rigidity. The shock towers were stitched from the inside of the wheel housing side.

  7. Guess I'm on board bound for hell as well, as I have no sympathy or empathy for an idiot like that. Is the world really missing such a smart guy like that who has expired plates, endangers others while thinking he can outrun a helicopter( only Nicholas Cage in Elanor,Hah) then point a gun at cops. Justice served. Too bad it wasn't a carload of dipshi_s toting guns, to help thin the herd, that is so abundant in Socal.

  8. I have a 3" pipe that is connected to an Apexi muffler that has a large split down the seam. I bought it awile ago from a member here or from another car forum,(long time ago, can't remember which)who had it on his 240z.

It is not a true mandrel bent setup though as the bends neck down slightly, and it is aluminized steel instead of stainless. Don't know if that would be of any interest to you or not, just throwing it out there. As time has creeped on wth my build, I have decided to eventually have a stainless, mandrel bent piping made.
