http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=270017011292&ih=017&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT Check this out....too good to be true?
  3. Good luck with the wiring guys! Please keep the rest of us informed...I started cleaning up the 240 engine harness this weekend as well.... It funny how hard it is to get help on this subject??????
  4. Thanx for all the pointers.....
  5. Atmosphere.? Doesnt that screw up the MAF readings...hence fuel ratio?
  6. I bought one of these from ss some time ago....this style seems to fit much better. It fits better into the 240 as well as onto the RB block...with no modifications. My only concern is one pipe is a bit close to the cam cover....but I gues time will tell. If I recall correctly a couple of nuts were tight and tricky to get a wrench at but in the end the fit was good. The gaskets were poor quality and the bolts look unreliable so I bought new http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Nissan-RB20-RB25DET-TURBO-MANIFOLD-W-TURBO-OUTLET_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33742QQihZ016QQitemZ260005686007QQrdZ1.
  7. Whats the best spot to place the BOV return line.....I know it should be after after the MAF but does it matter where? Before or after the turbo? I was thinking just before the entry side of the intercooler???
  8. thanx!....a damper for fuel pump variation? Is this required or a NISSAN safeguard?
  9. Come on guys...somebody must have a bit of info on this?? As near as I can tell the actual regulator should be the second unit...after the injectors but why is there one before the injectors.
  10. Why are there two on the RB20?? I have an adjustable NISMO regulator to replace the orginal. But which one do I replace?
  11. I gave the wrong link, he has top feed, these are the RB25 side feeds. Aside from that perhaps I will wait and just send in my 440s for "rebuild"...I actually have 8 injectors. Its not like I will be putting out "that much" more power. The 440s should handle it......if they dont Ill move up. Tomorrow Ill have my exhuast measured up by a local welder that will build me a very nice 18 gauge SS pipe, he does nice hotrod work for the custom crowd but charges only $50/hour plus actual material cost, nice deal! ....its getting closer to start up!
  12. Im considering the following injectors for my RB20DET...they claim its a direct hook up. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=8075384087&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT I have the following:RB20DET , RB25Turbo, tube headers and 3"down pipe and Exhaust, Power FC...blah blah blah Are the 550CC overkill, I already have the GTR nozzles sitting here but they are used.....the $405 sounds like a decent price and they are new. My goal is to have as much flexibility and power without sacraficing drivability.......what should I do!!!!!! Again are they overkill or within the performance range of my engine. Much appreciate your comments
  13. figured it out...http://www.nengun.com
  14. Im looking for a supplier for a Power FC / Commander for my RB20DET. There was a web site I lost that had these units for about $1000 bucks delivered, they also accepted paypal. Its not Greenline and I cant find this site if my life depended on it! Anyone have a clue? Thanx!!
  15. HEY 240z MASTER Did you ever right up that procedure? If so can I grab a copy......Im installing a RB20 but Im sure it will be very similar.
  16. No I dont know! Cant say Ive come across this....what diode and were do I put it? Thnax!
  17. for the record its a GTS-s RB20DET with a RB25 turbo, pipes , 444cc injectors a Z32 MAF and a rechiped ECU. eManage will be hooked along with boost control. Not sure what to expect......hope its fast!
  18. Im cheap too, so thats what Ill do! As far as what Im trying to do is clean up the harness and get the alternator wired in. I pretty sure I understand now. I have removed all the wiring for the regulator and will wire in the alternator as it was in the Skyline. THen I want to remove the amp gauge and replace it with a voltmeter...I think it will be more helpful as far as the info it gives. One thing Im not sure what to do with is the wires that went to the ignition resistor and coil. Can I use these for anything? First things first...I want to be able to turn over the engine and see if the alternator is doing anything. After that I will be hooking up the RB engine harness. Little clue were to start with that one!!! I guess I need to send power to the ECU. It also looks like there are a few accessory harnesses that I may want to remove but Im not sure yet what is what.....and perhaps a few thing to add...fuses! I created this spreadsheet ......it should help.... ( how do I post an excel file?).....Its a pin placement vs wire colour chart.
  19. Thanx..took me long enough...now I gotta get it running for the summer!
  20. PICS...another try...hope its better.
  21. At last...my RB20DET is siting in my 71Z...check it out below! HOW SWEET it is! Now Im trying to hook up the electrical. Please bare with me as Im electricaly challenged and I will probably ask some basic questions. First...Am I correct in saying that the alternator and starter have nothing to do with the ECU harness and that these can be wired directly into the 240 harness... Starter...straight forward as near as I can tell.....just wire up like the the original. Correct? Alternator: The stock 240 alternator is externaly regulated while the RB20 is internal... The RB has a: - heavy black wire that goes to the battery to which the underhood fuse box originally attaches to. This the battery charging wire...correct?? - thick white/blue wire -plug with a smaller white/blue and a white/red wire -ground wire The Z has a : -Thick white/red -plug with a yellow and a white/black wire -ground The charge wire...incorporate it into the harness The ground is self explanitory. Connector...run the yellow wire to the charge wire..? ....run the white/black to a volt meter...confirms if the alt. is charging...(I will replace the 240Z amp gauge for a 280Z volt gauge) The thick white/blue and white/red interchange THe oil pressure sensor on the RB is two wire...the z has a one wire. What can I do to make this work. Just change to a one wire sensore or can I make the the two wire sensor iwork in the z harness.? thanx jerry
  22. I just received a Nissan Intake gasket, Part # 14035-58S11...its wrong. It wont fit my RB20DET!! Does anyone know what this gasket is for....perhaps an RB25?? I have 2 as I bought an extra one. I believe the correct part number is 14035-72L11. Can someone confirm so I dont have to go through this CR_P again!! THANX!
  23. Thanx....I'll compare. Its alot better than what I had! Im sure it will help as it at least gives me a basic idea of the wirung paths. Much appreciated!!
  24. Im electrical handicaped and could use some help. Does anyone know were I can get a wire diagram for the RB20DET. I have the pin layout but colour coded wire chart sure would be nice. Im just about ready to drop it into my 71 240Z and could use any help that may come my way. Quite honestly......I have no idea where to even start! Desperate! Thanx
  25. That was my logic as well, two turbos on a 2.6L vs one on a 2.0L. Thanx fr the confirmation, I passed on the opportunity.
