  1. Hey guys I work at a shop and am trying to source a rebuild kit for a z31 (1986 300zx turbo). I've found a rebuild kit for a non turbo and ive found seal kits but I've read the internals are different. I need everything from pistons to cams and crank. Does anyone have any links or know of any websites that carry an engine rebuild kit? Thanks for any help!
  2. Hello Everyone, I bought a 1971 Datsun 240z, about 2 years ago as my first project car. The more I started to dig into the car, the more I wanted to repair and improve it. Initially I was just planning on getting it running and using it while slowly upgrading and repairing it. I ended up tearing it down to the bare chassis, mounting it on a rotisserie and media blasting it. After I media blasted it, I decided to replace the floors and upgrade the frame rails with baddog frame rails. I sat down and thought about what I wanted the car to be and I came up with a ton of ideas, but ended up narrowing it down into one vision. The vision is this(nicknamed ProjectWhiteNoiseZ): My vision is inspired by modern Nissan Nismo styling, but it will be powered by a 2JZ-GTE with a cd009 transmission. I have gone through every part and media blasted and powder coated it or upgraded it with something better. Doing all of this, inspired my brother to buy a crashed 2008 Mustang GT and the current plan is to complete our cars by August/September '18. I live in Colorado and he lives in Pennsylvania, so I'll be road tripping the 240z 1700miles each way when complete to meet him at a track in Pennsylvania and race. If you're interested to see the work and follow our journey to complete our cars over the next few months, we have a YouTube channel, Facebook, and Instagram where we're documenting our builds. Any comments on suggestions for YouTube video improvements are appreciated. We will answer any questions you have. 3. When i realized my 240z project was too rusty under all the bondo to bother i was bummed out. When my 300zx motor started to sound like a washing machine full of rocks i was ready to give up on life. When my boss told me i needed to get my junk cars out of the shop, I completely lost my mind and offered him $2000 for "everything i need to make it move" out of the various salt water flooded mustangs in the shop. We restored flooded cars and shipped them over seas btw. Note the giant pile of wires!
  4. NO LONGER NEEDED, THANK YOU.looking for 1 or set of 300zxt (z31) cv-axles. must be turbo car. reply here or PM me. thank you
  5. I have recently rebuilt the VG30E that is in my 1985 300zx, NA and automatic. It was a stock rebuild with a rebuild kit except for the cams, which were replaced by a Wolf Technologies AZ314-000S1. Because of the new cams I also opted for a 1987 ECCS with JECS#: A18-679 M83 with nistune installed. The engine has been assembled for a couple weeks now and it's still having problems. It will fire and it seems like the timing isn't set right. We have gotten it to run long enough to hopefully break in the cams, but it has rpm fluctuations under throttle and wont idle. The current thinking is that there is a problem between the new ECCS and the 1985 wiring harness but we have tried changing some pins that we thought were incorrect, like the injector wiring into the ECCS, and it performed worse after. We are back where we started. There is also a possible problem with stock map installed with the nistune software and whether or not that is affecting it. We are using the stock bin file for a 1988 NA automatic and don't know if that could be causing a issue Any help or advice would be much appreciated. If there's anything else that would help find a solution, please ask and I'd be happy to answer.
  6. Please let me know if you have one lying around. Or if you have one from the junk yard.
  7. Hi, I'm currently embarking on a diff project (not exactly by choice) and so far I have all my parts (Adapters from M2, Diff from Whitehead) and I am currently stuck at finding Z31 Turbo Axles. I've tried Rock Auto several times but they never have them in stock (when they do its a lie). I also tried my local CL and eBay as well as a few members here on HybridZ, NicoClub, and ClassicZCar. If this goes against any Forum rules, I apologize but I've tried mainly through Parts Wanted threads and private messaging AS WELL AS THE SEARCH BUTTON and I'm not to sure where to go now. If anyone has information on where to find Z31 Turbo axles please let me know. Better yet, if you are selling them, please let me know. Thank you, Liam
  8. I'm looking for a L28et Harness w/ Z31 ecu conversion which would include: Harness, z31 turbo ecu, maf, & wheel. I would prefer it to be pulled from a running car. If no one can offer me the entire setup, I will start hunting for parts of the setup.
  9. looking for a clsd 3.7 or 3.5 diff from a 84'-89' 300zx .
  10. Want good condition ecu. Would like harnesz as well. Looking for maf as well
  11. OK, I just want to be clear I looked around already, but I've found a lot of conflicting information on the subject. I want to swap the R200 open diff on my 280z for the CLSD from the 88 Z31. I already have the new diff, but I haven't gotten a chance to try and install it yet. So far I've gathered that this is a bolt on swap and the ONLY thing I have to do is swap the driveshaft companion flange. Now, Some people say that I need to take off the finned cover and put my old non-finned cover on. I'd like to retain the finned cover so my diff won't overheat. Is there a bolt-on friendly (read: no welding) way of doing this? z31 mustache bar or something? Is this even a real problem? Thanks guys.
  12. I'm looking for the factory head unit, floormats and gold key for my 50th AE 300zx. Thank you
  13. WTB Z31 Turbo LSD (87-89) and 16x8 +0 Offset 4x114.3 Enkei 92s Open to other kinds of wheels, but they need to be those specs,. Could go 17 or slightly different offset, but must be an 8 inch or bigger wheel and fit a lowered 280z. Please reply to this thread and I will get back to you! Thanks, -Travis
  14. So i recently purchased a 4/1987 z31 turbo 300zx donor for my s30 l28et project. Originally I planned to fix her up and make her my daily for a while, unfortunately the HOA has issues with my roomates and i having several cars parked outside. Therefore I have to pull the parts i need for my s30 so i can get it off the street. I know for a fact that i can use the transmission, differential, rear brakes, and ecu. I think i might have read once that i could use the axels and half shafts as well. Is there any other parts that you guys would recommend that i should pull off of the donor car while it is still available? Any advice or suggestions that could be offered would be greatly appreciated. I have done my research and to my knowledge this is all that i would need off of the z31. i would hate to sell it and wish i had pulled something more. I know these builds are quit common so any other helpful hints or advice would be awesome. Any other forum suggestions would be helpful too i tried searching this topic and nothing came up so sorry to start a new thread if one already exist. cheers
