  1. Hi Guys! I am not super new to these forums but I also not a pro yet However, as far as I can see no one has posted any pictures or information about the Fiberglass Mafia Flare kit for the 240z, 260z, and 280z! I have been eyeing these fenders for as long as I've owned my Z and since I've had them for a while, it was finally time to send my car to my body work guy! When I first ordered the fenders I was a little wary of the fitment and quality because no one had really reviewed these fenders yet before. Well, here I am! After placing the order, I waited a couple months and then they finally arrived!! As far as I could tell they were pretty sturdy, pretty lightweight and looked like they would be amazing on my Z! Here is a picture of my baby with the fenders taped right on.
  2. So i've got a 71 z with a 302 c4 combo in it and figured since it wasn't pure anymore i might as well play with the sheet metal too to accommodate some larger wheels/tires eventually probably a 17x9ish. I purchased these zg flares to just bolt on and then cut the fender to allow the bigger rubber http://www.zgfenderflares.com/ and started thinking about trying to fiberglass the zg flares to the body to create a small widebody similar to this car http://datsunfreak.deviantart.com/art/600hp-Silver-240Z-2-50121778 because it looks like the majority of the fender was left alone and only the flare area was fiberglassed.. I was hoping someone could give me an idea of what this might end up looking like or if something like that is even possible the way i described it ,thanks. Am also planning on running dual exhaust and was wondering if removal of the spare tire shell is necessary.
  3. hey guys I currently have a stock 76 280Z and i was wondering if it would be possible to get 16x9 with a 15 offset on without the use of flares ( not a huge fan of flares ) im pretty sure i would need to get my fender rolled but i still need some more knowledge on this. If i could fit them what about tire sizes and etc ? Also i may lower the car with eibach springs in the next couple of months will i still be good without the flares then ? thank you for any help
  4. I am currently rebuilding/restoring a 1976 280z. I am located near Youngstown Ohio and would prefer large items to be within driving distance. 5. Hey guys, I figured I may as well start a build thread for my late model 260Z. I am currently in the process of installing the new BC racing coilovers as well as working on a few areas of the brakes while I'm in there. I will also be installing flares this winter after my new 3-piece Revolution RFX wheels in 16x9. Below are a few pictures to get you up to date: Pictures of the coilovers right out of the box: Car on Jack Stands preparing to be disassembled for coilover install: Dirty Front Assembly Removed: Disassembling: Sectioned a bit (Not all the way. Correct cut is 45mm up from the bottom.): Rear Assembly Removed: Sectioned down a bit: Test Fit on front assemble before cutting to the correct height: My 3 Piece Revolution RFX's (Soon to be refinished to Matte Black Faces with Gloss Bronze Lips):
  6. Motorsport Auto Street Flares. Are there any of these out there left? I need a set.

  8. Like the title states I am in the market for some of the wide Marguen Shoukai flares and their 3 piece wing as well. If I don't get any bites on here I'll just end up ordering them through rhd but I figured I would try my luck here first!
  9. I am trying to fit 28X10.5" slicks under my 240z. I spent a lot of time talking to folks who have installed screw-on flares only to have to re-cut due to not cutting enough the first time. I put them high-higher than most (and I hope I like it), but I got to this point working with MiKelly who cut a tire road racing and had to re-cut at least once. The top of the flare is 4" below the hard bend in the quarter panel near the rear of the quarter window. The following are photos from the hot rod shop doing the metal work for me while I'm out of town. The metal man is being great about sending me photos. This is not a custom car, this is a race car, so I'm interested in not cutting a tire. I do not offer these photos as the best way to install flares; rather I only hope to share what I have learned and what I'm doing. I forgot to take my slicks to the metal man for test fit, so that has me stalled for now, but I called back from vacation and a good friend is delivering them in the morning. I need a lot of metal taken out of the dog leg section. I will include a photo of my car squatting on launch wearing 26X8.5 slicks-note how close the tire is to the dog leg. Test mounting the big slicks should answer the question of whether he has removed enough, or if I need him to remake the forward portion of the wheel tub/inner fender. SunnyZ solved this clearance problem by totally redesigning his rear suspension to move the tire rearward 1 full inch. I'm not about that. If push comes to shove, I will go to 27" slicks, but there isn't a lot available in that diameter. More photos when I have them. I made one obvious mistake in locating my flares but I'm pushing forward. When you test fit your flares, make sure the car is level. I test fit with the rear of the car high on jackstands and the front tires on the ground and used a plumb bob to locate the center of the flare over the center of the hub. That resulted in a flare that is rotated rearward somewhat once the car is on level ground. I wish the front of the flare was farher down, but I'm moving on. I will try to stick with the small screws that come with the Z-force Productions flare mounting kit and delay the placement of rivet nuts (which puts a BIG hole in the sheet metal). I may be looking at a paint job this winter (especially if the welding burns my paint up terribly), in which case, I will have the current small holes welded and then rotate the flare and redrill it as it should be.
  10. I have a 72 240Z with 6 liter LS2 and T56 6 speed. After the engine/trans install (by Dave - (Viperredls1z), we did a 4 wheel Willwood disc brake setup from Arizona Z Car and while I was doing that, I opted for the package with 5 x 4.5" lugs which gave me the option for larger tires and wheels. I got a set of wheels (11x17 rear and 9x17 front) and mounted Michelin 335/35-17 rears and 275/40-17 fronts. The car originally had hand built flares, but they were poorly done and in any case did not cover the larger tires. This gave me the perfect opportunity to do some paint and bodywork that I have been putting off. The car is in Ralph Garza's Body shop in Roseburg, Oregon for complete body work and paint. Check my facebook page: Datsun V8Z. The old paint is almost all gone, body panels are being aligned and this weekend they started on the flares. I made templates out of 1/2 inch plywood that would be the outside opening of the flares. The template radius is 1 1/2 inches larger than the tire radius. I located the center of the template 1" above the center of the wheels/tires, allowing for a bit more suspension travel. This weekend, Ralph and his buddy John from Portland (who has done SEMA class winners) started mocking up the flares. They are using rigid styrofoam blocks and spray foam to construct a workable surface, then filing and sanding down to a final shape. Hopefully this will be done this weekend, and the fiberglassing can begin. The side marker lights go away, and I'm adding turn signals behind the front grill (yet to be fabricated). No front bumper. Thin black fiberglass bumper? in the rear. It will be painted with many layers of Kandy Tangerine over gold metalflake with a black stripe down the center. This is my preferred daily driver, so we are adding some comfort touches: Lots of sound insulation, Honda S2000 power mirrors, leather reupholstery on the existing 350Z power/heated seats. Also adding a small overhead console for rear-view camera. I've attached a photo of the car before bodywork and a few pictures of it as it sits in the shop. I'll try to post every few days to keep everyone updated.
  11. I had a chance to photograph Kevin Yeung’s extremely clean and well-executed 240z. I was an extremely excited to do this feature because I am working on a 240z of my own. 12. Hi, has anyone had experience using these universal flares from ZCCJDM? I'm going to find out if they can do sizes similar to ZG's, metal on metal just has more appeal to me for some reason. ZG's look nice, but I must be OCD because all I can think about is the hacked up metal that would be lurking underneath them
  13. Looking to buy Classic Datsun ZG flares or nicer. Marugen Shoukai would be fantastic if anyone has a set. Willing to pay shipping and can paypal the money asap. Thanks, Jeremy
  14. Hey all, Recently i came across This yellow Z on Facebook, (Belongs to Classic Garage Co. Ltd. in Fukuoka Japan) and I can't figure out what fender flares (overfenders) it has. I've been going mad searching trying to figure out. the fronts are more than likely custom and as for the rears, they seem to be some G-nose kit flares. i'm more than likely wrong though. Wasabicars on Youtube covered the shop very quickly, and the first Z he does is the yellow one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AG4nCY3UOcc&feature=youtu.be here is Classic Garage's link to it http://www.kurumaerabi.com/site/car/info/20000202/13/ Please, any help would be appreciated thanks!
