Installing a new master cylinder 260z

Recommended Posts

Yes, there is a gasket. You can buy gasket material from a parts store. Use the flange of the MC as a template to outline the gasket and then cut it out with a razor. I use a piece of tubing as a punch to cut out the bolt holes. Sharpen the end of the tubing with a file. Place the gasket on a hard surface and then punch out the bolt holes.

Thank you for the information. When i purchased my z the booster and master cylinder did not have a gasket in between. After a while my master cylinder broke and leaked the brake fluid into the booster. Then they both went out and now I have to replace both. It gives me a good oportunity to upgrade to the 280zx brake master cylinder. :D
