mossy74 Posted January 10, 2014 Share Posted January 10, 2014 So I've been trying to work out why my sectioned struts why my Tokico Ilumina BZ3099 and BZ3015 Inserts and 225/250 lbs springs rides so rough on the road with ES bumpstops, from the reading I've done it looks like I needed a progessive bump stop like the koni ones (just bought some) so its a smooth transition from travel to hitting the stop. My question is since these compress quite a lot compared to the poly ones which I take don't move at all, will I need some sort of delrin spacer on the gland nut to stop the struts destroying themselves in case I hit a big bump? morbias Posted January 10, 2014 Share Posted January 10, 2014 The struts will only destroy themselves internally if there is no bump stop as they bottom out internally. The progressive bumpstops should be more than adequate, a lot of people cut them in half to gain more shock travel. What settings do you have your shocks set to?
