The presence of dyno rollers helps. I got 145 passes out of mine, so they are a stout little kit. Just not indestructible but what is? I think I just got on too sticky of a track with too sticky of a tire. I'm curious to learn over time about daily driving a turbo car? Does the tune (and all that meth injection stuff) automatically tune on the fly if you have the boost turned up or down? The standard just keeps moving! So much to learn and priorities to manage...the Joneses just keep whipping my butt! My current car will remain N/A, but I'm already fantacizing about the next one.

You tune it via MAP (manifold absolute pressure) up to your max boost level. This makes sure your fueling is correct all the way. Then whatever boost you see, it will have a value for that cell in the table.

 

 With a factory PCM, it will do some "learning" but will NOT correct at WOT if you have an issue.  That is where the aftermarket ECU's shine. If your fuel pressure drops at WOT, oil pressure goes low, coolant goes hot, boost goes high, etc, ECM's like the Holley will correct at WOT to an extent. Once they cross the parameter you set up ( >15psi MAP, >220* F, <30PSI oil etc), it will shut the car down (like a rev limiter, pulling spark).  

 

I'm VERY green on this stuff still. So much to learn.

After market ECMs are getting more sophisticated.  The basics of EFI remain the same.  The latest development is the self tuning capability.  This requires MORE intelligent embedded software code in the ECU to self modify the fuel injection output parameters based on inputs to the EFI.  I have invested in GM PCMs and gotten to the point of TOO much money to invest to reap TOO little benefit.  Finally went with Electromotive EFI ECU and have not looked back since.  They appear to have the tech bedrock from which all other modern EFI systems have developed.  Lots of intellectual property stealing going on among manufacturers.  The cheaper self tuning system all appear to be THROTTLE body EFI, not port injected EFI, which is a technological step BACKWARDS but better than carbs.

Throttle body EFI causes some cylinders to run rich and some to run lean.  Just the nature of this level of EFI technology.

 

I don't quite understand your statement.  The Holley stuff (dominator) is capable of single cylinder EGT monitoring.  You can then trim fuel by cylinder, since there's 1 injector (or more for the big boys) per cylinder.

I believe his point is unless you install a temp sensor and o2 sensor in each cylinder some cylinders will run rich and some lean. That's the price you pay with one air inlet source.

 

I guess so. I'm still "dragging knuckles" with my cam-in-block v8 anyway.

I saw this done on a LS1 swapped miata. Works great for rotating the thermostat housing down.

Drilled and tapped a 3/8 NPT hole in the timing cover for the oil return fitting. The fitting is a 90*  3/8 NPT to -10 AN

We had no room for the tranny cooler so it was relocated to the passengers wheel well. It should still get good airflow while moving but I might add a little fan later.

The exhaust isn't as loud as I thought it would be just cruising around. It's alot louder on the dyno though making wot pulls. Sounds great with the wistle of the turbo.

Is that legal to cruise around on public roads like that in your city/state ? Not here , in Texas .

I'm in Topeka, KS. We don't have any type of vehicle inspections unless you buy a car from out of state. Even then all they do is check VIN's. I'm sure I'll probably eventually get pulled over and get a fix-it ticket but I'll wait till that happens to put a bullet muffler on it. For some reason I like loud obnoxious vehicles. lol  My truck is a 97 powerstroke diesel. I get mean looks in the fast food drive thru.

I injector per cylinder is NOT throttle body injection yet is port injection.  The throttle body is an air valve.  Throttle body injection has the injectors AT the throttle body.  Gen 5 GM small block has fuel injection directly into the cylinder, like diesel injection.
