Bolts for bumper steer spacers

Recommended Posts

Ok guys, I bought some bump steer spacers a while back without bolts.. Now Im going over my suspension and want to get them ready.. I figured i could just pick up some longer bolts but its been a mission to find the right grade bolts.

m12x1.25 is the size.pitch.

ANy idea what length? Im thinking 55mm or 60mm ? Also should be a class 10.9 or grade 8 correct? Im trying to find a place to buy them from online but can't find one. Tried local places and no one has anything better than class 8.8. Of course though the real hardware places are closed right now due to the new year.

When I purchased RCA's (Bump Steer Spacers) I asked if I was sent 8.8 hardware by mistake. (Instead of 10.9) I was told that in this specific application he would rather have the fastener bend then break. Implying that the 10.9 fastener could possibly break before the 8.8 would bend.

There are other members that have much more fastener knowledge than me, and could further clarify/elaborate on my comment above.

That's silly.... grade 10.9 metric is roughly equivalent to grade 8 imperial. Which is more or less the standard for anything with a torque rating.

That said, if the "rollcenter adjuster" is the negative camber type, and the threads are aluminum, then grade 8.8 is fine, but the normal spindle bolts are going to be 10.9 or better.
