So much room for turbo's

When I was test fitting up for turbos I mocked one 366 up and man plumbing will be tight, especially after all the accessories are bolted on. I then opted for an S475 kinda tucked in the front passenger side. All depends and how you mount the radiator and Intercooler setup and what kind of surgery your wanting to do! I've seen plenty of both

 

I opted to all motor on the initial at the end for cost and time reasons. But a turbo will be in the future at some point

I thought the same thing at the same point in my build. Plan for them, but you will be surprised how fast the space fills up with the essentials, like radiator, hoses, belts, etc. sure you can CRAM it all in there, but you don't want to have to remove all your manifolds and tubing in order to change a spark plug. It gets crowded fast.

 I need to get some 2.5" exhaust tubing. The 2.25 stuff I have is too small. My vband clams arrived. I have tons of room using the flipped truck manifolds. I have 2"+ of hood clearence. I have room for the 3.5 - 4" down pipe. I want twin turbo but I'm going single turbo because basically its cheaper. I found a place in York region the actually bends mandrel pipe for cheap. Nice have local business for support.

I started the turbo system for the LS Datsun 240Zthis week. I am using the cast steel truck manifold for the headers. I cut off the flanges that hit the frame rail and welded on some 2.5" exhaust tubing. I them attached a 2.5" v-band clamps. Since the headers and pipe are different sizes there was some filling of holes (including one I made.. Whoops). Metal was built up and then grinded off to give a smoother look. Trying to make it look pretty. Looks like I will be going twin chinese GT3582R's. Fun fun.

I have the F-body oilpan and it hangs 1-1/2" below crossmember, so I welded a "cattle catcher" onto the crossmember to protect it from a big rock in the road.  I have high centered on it once on a buddy's driveway, but I got lucky and it didn't crack it.  My next car (if my motivation increases) will have to contend with the front end coming down from a wheelie, and maybe a full bellypan, so I will be doing the Corvette pan to keep from wiping that sucker out.  I've seen a lot of carnage from wheelie vs oilpan-spectators love seeing sparks after a wheelie, but it looks painfully expensive to me.

Okay, I have to ask - what boost are you planning to run with this?  I'm assuming that the Chinese GT35Rs claim to have the same compressor maps - if so, then they won't be particularly happy at low boost (<1.5PR).  Are you planning to intercool it?  If you plan to run where the turbos be happier (~2.0 - 2.5PR), you'll probably want to. If you do then it seems like you are going to be somewhere around 800hp (or higher).

 

Do you have a trans that can survive?

That's going to require a lot of fuel - what are you planning to do for a fuel system?

Doing the same.. not many TTLSS30's out there... twin 6262's for us...
