No battery light 94 Z32 N/A

Recommended Posts

So I have a 94 non-turbo Z, and there is no battery light on the instrument panel. I recently changed out the alternator three times, twice with Duralast remans, and the third time with a OEM Nissan alt. I have verified all wires at the back of the alternator do have continuity, bit the alternator is still not giving power to the engine. Just today I noticed that the battery light is not illuminating on the panel, I verified the engine cont fuse isn't blown, and I swapped the light with another light on the instrument panel, and it still did not light up. I got the feeling this may be related to the issues that the alternator is having. Any suggestions as to why the battery light isn't coming on, and why the alternator is not providing the car with electricity?

You might be on the right track.  No power to the L terminal usually means no charging will happen.  You can check for power at the plugs, alternator or instrument panel, with a meter or test light.

Took the car to an electrical shop, and they got the battery light working again, supposedly it was a loose terminal connection on the alternator that was keeping the light from turning on. Now that issue has been resolved, I am getting another issue, erratic voltage. I guess it's time to go back and check connections again.
