In Progress RB26 1972 240z

1972RBZ

Recommended Posts

My Father was a mechanic who recently passed away.  We started building this car 8 or 9 years ago and then he got sick and unfortunately we were never able to finish the car.  I have a lot of nice parts some of which are installed in the car and others that are in crates.

Car 1972 240z California car, (not sure the mileage, but I can get that if important.  As far as I can tell it has never been in any sort of accident and the body has no rust and doesn't need any major body work. The car was running and complete when we started.  I got rid of the stock motor and transmission.   It has been completely disassembled down to the unibody.  The unibody has been extensively stitch welded to strengthen, and then bead blasted.  A custom full roll cage has been installed and extra steel installed under the floor to stiffen the car to handle the extra horsepower.  Nothing was cut to install the roll cage so if the buyer wanted to remove they could.

Motor : Purchased a 1992 R32 skyline front clip, It has been disassembled and the long block is sitting in the car the rest of the parts are in a crate.  A custom oil pan was built to fit the car.  Engine is installed all custom billet engine mounts.

Transmission : 5 speed from RB25 two wheel drive skyline

Diff: Infinity Q45 LSD installed in car

Drive Line: custom build to fit the car

Suspension : Complete Arizona Z Car race suspension and brakes  (bought new, is a few years old but never used). This is installed in the car.  http://www.arizonazcar.com/TRACK-PAK.html. I have everything pictured, but not the half shaft conversion parts mentioned.

Race Fuel Cell: ATL 22GA Sport series with high volume pump

I had a lot of passion for the project and invested more than 30k in parts and labor to get it where it is now.  At this point I am extremely busy and not able to work on it myself, and with my father gone, I fear it would just sit and never actually get finished.  I really don't want to store it, so I would like to price it to sell quickly.  More important than the money is that this goes to someone who has the skill and resources to bring the project to completion at a high level.  The car is currently in Yuba City CA, I have family who would haul it to anywhere within 150 miles, if farther than that shipping would need to be arranged.

Everything to complete the car is there, it just needs someone with the skill to put it together.

Sorry for the lose of you father.

Without a lot of time on your hands your going to take a major hit with an unfinished project. Your so far a long you might want to see if you can find someone to finish it for your.

Otherwise part it out in my mind.

Wow, lots of really nice parts!

I can just imagine how much it cost you to get it to that point...It's not cheap!

Sadly I agree with JSM, you will get hit hard for the vehicle being in parts..

Parting it out would be a crying shame...

What were you hoping to get for it?
