I have a 1978 datsun 280z cranks but won't start .i already checked the 3 main relay s to run the fuel pump and nothing no power to the pump.please anyone here where should I check next?

Did you actually check voltage at the pump?  Or just assume that it had no power because it's not working?

Om the 78's you can disconnect the oil pressure sender and the pump should get power when the key is on.  Easier than trying to measure it while cranking.  That will at least tell you if the pump circuit is complete.

The 78 system has a lot more parts and connections to get screwed up.  You're starting in the right spot, the fusible links.

Classiczcars.com has wiring diagrams and factory service manuals.  They'll help a lot for troubleshooting, with a meter.

Tito,

I had same issue some time ago. Did you check my quest? http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/129390-fuel-pump-and-relais/

1. Looked like I had some thing with a stuck relais or beeper for the seat belt

2. The new ignition switch did not work correct. When pressing hard on the starter key my switch was working. I fixed that later.

My relais were all fine in the end.

Hope it helps

I fixed already those wires that were rusty,, now I removed the maf sensor and I sprayed starting fluid and it turned on right away and smooth,, but once again. I check all the relays with the multimeter and apparently they are fine and I still have no voltage at fuel pump. Please help guys I will appreciate so much.

Tito,

If you disconnect feed wire to the solenoid of the starter motor (so it does not start if you turn ignition to starts), and remove the left side block connector (88c, 86,88a,86b,88b) from the fuel injection relais, and turn the ignition to "start" (keep it on start), and measure the voltage on the fuel pump terminals,  what do you measure (not really easy to do, and extra hands help here)?

& did you check all the circuits from the icu (see page 45 onward, http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/efisystem/280zfuelinjectionbook.pdf)?

You're jumping around from idea to idea.  Follow the power from the battery to the pump.  Come back and post where you last saw voltage.  The "Ign" fusible link then pin 93 of the fuel pump relay are your first two spots to check.
