Two Years in the Federal Correctional Facility in Sheridan O

Man this really pisses me off fmad.gif , another step closer till they start making us "register" every firearm we own, or even the outright ban of guns altogether. Just remember, if guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. I have a serious problem with the government going after people who have done nothing wrong, when they let drug dealers and thieves go every day. TZ - I feel your pain and am behind you one hundred percent - and in the words of Charleton Heston, the only way they're getting my guns is by prying them from my cold dead hands.

i have known people that got caught in the federal judicial system for things that were never proven and did time for.the federal system works different than dealing with your local county district attorney.if you dont have oj simpson's money your screwed.and you will never know who you pissed off to get all that attention from the feds.oregon and california are full of democrat tree hugging liberals that want to create a form of socialist government.they are afraid of people that hunt and kill game for food and own guns.is it too late for a good attorney?maybe all the hybrid z people could donate for a legal fund?maybe some tree huggers in there volvo station wagon that went a a day hike with $1000 dollars in yuppie hiking gear from rei got scared when they heard some auto gun fire in the woods.

Thanx to all you Hybrid Z renagades. My battle has been a solitary effort because I chose that recourse rather than risk noterity which could cause me additional grief. I still have good options and once again free of a court appointed attorney including the local and extremely predjudiced court to work against my interests.Eugene Oregon is what Berkly is to California. At this time, all I need is your friendship, moral support and the knowledge my cyber home will be open to return to. Please Keep this Z community of members going because, LOL it is going to be harder to get the Fat Boy on the road than to get out of all this legal difficulty. Do not worry about me, I will survive and thrive. Be back soon and be aware of our rights and freedoms and protect yourself.

Well, at least you have that...

I'm really sorry and concerned to hear this - best of luck to you.

Along these lines, here is an interesting quote that I saw recently:

"Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry.

Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto the leader and gladly so. How do I know? For this is what I have done. And I am Caesar."

I just have to repost, that is an excellent quote and couldn't be more appropriate to this topic or these troubling times...

We are truly in a sad state of affairs. Kevin S., I couldn't agree more with your point of view on this. Personally I won't have guns (for a variety of reasons), but suffice it to say I do not desire to have that right to own firearms infringed. It is a shame the country couldn't be filled with more peoply like we HybridZ'rs, 'cause I don't think this crap could happen then. That quote from Roman times is sooo appropriate.

Bonne chance, T-Z.

I just noticed this post..... but that is BullsH!t..

I agree the legal system is falling apart and has been for quite a while. It should not be a crime to own ANY firearm... I don't care what it is... unless you are intentionally hiding it...(wouldn't have to if it were legal anyway) 99.9 % of people who commit crimes have the guns illegally anyway.

Its all crap... Try to keep your head up....I know it seems impossible. Hell, I'm not sure if I could either...

I'm assuming that since Larry posted his new address, that snail mail will get to him. Based on that assumption, I suggest each of us consider sending him a printout of a thread from time to time. Perhaps a photocopy of some hybrid-oriented magazine article. Perhaps a photocopy of a chapter out of a technical book. For example, perhaps a chapter every week or two from the Forbes Aird book on composite construction. I'll give it a shot and see if he gets it. Maybe if we all pull together, we can make his sentence go by a teeny bit faster. Just a thought.

I am not sure HOW I missed this thread. Larry is gone now, incarserated for crimes against current laws on the books.

Among my many other claims to fame, I once had an FFL license. In 1990 I chose to unload all of my assault weapons and the only guns I have had since have been my handgun, a shotgun, a 22 rifle and a world war1 vintage sniper rifle. Being former law enforcement, I saw the writing on the wall. Too many high profile cases where high capacity weapons were used. I also gave up on the NRA. Got out and do NOT endourse them anymore.

My thoughts and prayers go with Larry to the big house. However, bucking up against "The Man", the feds, is NOT smart. No matter the principle, I can only encourage each and every one of you guys to use your heads, vote at elections, and make a difference in that manor. Harbouring illegal and banned weapons is stil ILLEGAL. Although I don't agree with the classification of what a "LEGAL vs. ILLEGAL" weapon is, laws are laws and seeing someone like Larry have to go through this just sucks X10!

...and Yes, I bet the feds are watching this site...

I'm waiting for you to stand up and say, "PSYCHE!!" meaning you shammed us all to get in a good laigh! flamedevil.gif

But We'll all miss you, bro...

If I get something done on my "goat," I'll send you a pic. Just no chicks laying on the car, so the sensors don't mark it out.

You know, that is not such a bad idea, John. I'm sure he would love to get some mail from time to time, and I am positive he would write back--he's got nothing but time on his hands at this point. Certain prisons only let you have a few pages at a time, not a whole book or magazine. Incarceration does horrible things to your morale, not to mention what the inmates can do...He needs to keep his mind active and 'make the most' of his time there. Not doing anything at all would be the biggest mistake.

Sorry to hear what happened... Without a doubt you are one of most technically responsive members on this board. Alway helping people with sometimes redundant questions, especially mines. I thank you for all your help and support on this board. I wish you the best of luck.
