Hi,

Could anyone tell me this please as i am a little confused.

If i were to use a 2jzgte motor, i have 3 options for gearbox.

1 use the v160 tt 6 speed box

2 use a r154 gear box from a mk3 supra, and use the w58 bell housing off n/a mk4 supra

3 use a straight w58 box

the question i need to know is if i go with the w58 box, would i have to run the n/a supra clutch+flywheel system. or is it possible to use a 2jzgte flywheel and clutch,i have got both systems to hand and the 2jzgte flywheel is slightly larger in size and 2jzgte clutch will not fit the n/a flywheel due to the size and pin locations. So if i changed to a 2jzgte flywheel and clutch system how or is it possible to use the w58 box, as the w58 clutch is a push motion clutch not a pull motion like the supra 2jzgte... even if i had the clutch slave cylinder and pitch fork off a 2jzgte....

Could i do it this way or am i stuck with the n/a(2jzge) clutch if i use the w58 box.

please help anyone with suggestions

To run the R154 you need the 1jz bellhousing. I wouldn't use the W58 if high boost is in your future.

Where does one go about finding a 7MGTE? I just checked ebay and came up with nothing. I'd love to cannibalize the Supra I'm driving right now but it belongs to my friend in Iraq and he'd come back and kill me in 101 different ways. I'm considering this swap as well and don't know the first place to look to find that motor. (There also weren't any at my local Pick N Pull)

Buying a motor then trans, clutch, and wiring seperatly will be expensive and IMO not worth it for a 7M, You also will need a custom driveshaft. I did the swap because I bought a wrecked car for $500 that was complete. Look at local insurance auctions, http://iaai.com/ is a big one.
