Wideband for SDS, LC-1 or LM-1

I understand SDS can now data log from a wideband with a software upgrade but unless I'm missing something, you can't download the data to a laptop for analysis. Ideally, I'd like to make a few runs and go back home to look at the data so I'm looking at picking up a LC-1 or LM-1 but I'm a litle confused between the two.

Is the LC-1 the same as the LM-1 but without the standalone unit? To put it another way, can the LC-1 with a laptop do everything the LM-1 can do? If I get the LC-1 or LM-1, do I need the RPM convertor to log RPM with AFR?

This is to tune a L28et with SDS.

hey man,

I currently have my LM-1 setup to pull data from the sds ecu and datalog it in Logworks.

Both Warren and Pallnet pinned out each sensor to tap into and Pete(Pallnet) sold me a plug and play setup to do this using the RPM converter from Innovate.

this was my #1 complaint with SDS until i went this route, works Great!

Ok, so basically whatever you want to log, you tap into the signal going into the SDS brain? I'm just a little confused because the RPM convertor gives you additional inputs to log more sensors but the description of the LM-1 says this

"The instrument can sample and store 6 channels of data- air-fuel-ratio and up to 5 other sensor data channels...."

Can it sample 6 channels without the RPM convertor? If it can, I don't think I need any additional inputs.

The LM-1 has 5 analog inputs, and the lambda sensor. The 5 extra inputs

is just 0-5v. It logs all 6 inputs.

The RPM convertor uses one of the inputs, and converts rpm pulses

to an analog signal for the LM-1 to use, and gives you connectors to

mount cables for the rest of the inputs.

I bought my LM-1 with the auxbox (LMA-3), and with the built in map sensor

it is perfect for mapping my autronic!

The software presents it in a map/rpm chart, and shows the afr-ratio

all over, and makes it easy to see were to correct.

I would say you should buy the auxbox.

  • 4 weeks later...

Just got my LM-1 with RPM kit last week. Did a few time based test logs and I think I'm really gonna like this product :icon14: . I'll wire the rest of the inputs and do some real logs this weekend.

BTW, I got it on sale here. All the Innovate products are on sale.
