yo,im new here but ive done a few swaps on a 300zx.one of them was a 1uz.i can tell you from experience its not worth it in n/a form.i'm not trying to discourage you but a vh45 is much more powerfull, and theres a adaptor for this swap.allso lots of parts interchange with a vh45 swap.i do swaps for the fun of it so i know what you attempting but the only thing a1uz has over a vh45 is a bit more aftermarket. think about it the vh45 is just so much better.cheers

Well then i think i will go with the VH45 single turbo

I cant find any after market stuff though can you give me some links, aka forged pistons and rods, cams, oversized intake and exhaust valves. valve springs and retainers, etc i gonna do all the good stuff,

and i can have back up on the vh45 swap, because i know a few guys on here that are doing it as well.

This was the other engine i was going to use

I gonna need to use a adapter plate to mate my z32 5 spd with the engine and if anyone can find one online post it here, there was a group buy on here somewhere for them

The valves are pretty big to begin with, larger than VK45's. You don't really need rods (it's not a Chevy), just pistons if you want alot of boost. Cams aren't cheap. I would just do pistons unless you are after every last bit.

Cams http://www.camshafts.co.nz/Nissan.aspx#VH41-45

This guy made 446 rwhp with 6 psi, stock motor.

Doesn't the VH45 weigh in close to 500 pounds in running condition?

I recent weight for the 1UZ I saw on lextreme was 398, though it wasn't complete (not that far off though).

Here's the pics:

If you're trying to save every last little bit, the 1UZ might put you an extra 30-50 pounds ahead. Though unless you're looking at serious port work + cams you're not gonna see a ton of HP out of these motors. But if you're only looking for around 300hp it fits the bill imo. And even if you wanted 500hp the head and cam mods might still make this a worthy swap candidate still. Just depends on what you want.

VH45 will still probably be cheaper and easier in the end. Just a little fatter I think. But as you can read on this site, engine weight doesn't decide handling characteristics.

yo,czecho i'm no expert or engine builder but this is what i know so far.from experience and reseach.13psi max boost safely on pump gas.nissan ecu can make high power when chipped for boost.500rwhp @ 1bar with only thiker gaskets and reground exaust cams and 440cc injectors.turbo size very important to prevent detonation caused by back presure.(experience) 500rwhp+ = forged pistons. some companies can custom make to order, one company has made them before but its not on the shelf item.escort makes them too donno if they have them in stock though. theres a few guys on nico that have stock boosted vh45 one of them has 446rwhp on stock everything and its been running for some time now.as you can see the motor can take allsorts of mods.the iuz can too but it does not respond aswell as a vh45.the only thing i know that better is ,it has less compresion so it can take 1 bar on a stock motor for a bit longer.but that does not matter cause at 1bar a lex makes about 400rwhp and a vh45 make about 500rwhp. cheers
