COmputoman Posted November 13, 2008 Share Posted November 13, 2008 I hear a clunking noise when my rear end exits a steep driveway or goes over a speed bump. Should the mustache bar mounting points be tightened up against the chassis? here is a photo of its current position. Also I just replaced the shocks and springs. Thanks for any advise! If I were you I would replace the stock rubber bushings with a new set of poly bushings and tighten it up...will make a big difference. rags Posted November 14, 2008 Share Posted November 14, 2008 Go back to the speedbump where you heard the noise. Go over it again with your foot on the clutch. If you hear the noise while freewheeling over the speedbump the noise is coming from the struts. You said you just changed the struts and springs. Was the noise there before you did this? Silver Mine Motors Posted November 15, 2008 Share Posted November 15, 2008 Hey i just had that same problem this past week and I also though it was the shocks but, when I put the car on a lift it was my sway bar mounting bracket.
