Not at all, they handle wonderfully. A bit of body roll in hard corners but it really sticks, and doesn't push. Not as quick as my 240 but that's to be expected. For a 2.6L sohc inline 6 it's got decent power/torque though.

It may get the DOHC 3.2L out of the 300E sometime in the future.

Its not a daily drive but is could be. I bought a 1979 635csi about 9 months ago. I love it! 5 speed dog leg gear box, early m90(wider bore and shorter stroke then the later big six's) slighly lowered, and bigish feet.

I have a turbo for it siting on my desk and a whole bunch of suspension mods planed in the future. I wont start playing with it untill the zeds finished though.

So Pete, when are you going to buy yourself a camera and show us some pics? This is almost as much of a tease as when you got your Z first painted. ;)

:D

It was Olya's birthday, took her out to lunch. She brought her camera and wanted photos of herself with the M5 for her mom to take back to the Ukraine with her. This is from in front of the place we went to eat (I highly recommend it - Dutch's Daughter in Frederick MD)

Best looking hood ornament I've seen in a while! :D No, she didn't dent the hood, and I don't think I'd care if she did! :flamedevi. The beauty is way more than skin-deep on this woman. We communicate on an almost telepathic level, much like driving an M5 :)

More of a front 1/4 shot of the car (I like the lowered, raked look of it):

No, that's not her real hair. It's brown:

"Lehts troi this,... aegain.." :lmao::lmao:

:D My son's eyes popped out watching that guy slide the M5 around on the crowded city streets. :burnout:

I would like to learn how to drive like that. Especially the 180 slide to the curb (and being able to reach back and open the door to let the passenger fly out!).

To tell you the truth, the M5 is fun, but definitely needs some more power. It just doesn't sit me back in the seat like I feel it should. Too bad the Dinan supercharger kit is $23K just for the kit, and 80 hours of labor!!! Plus you need the other parts of the car to be upgraded! Oh well, I'll just have to live with it being about 440hp at the crank (estimate with the SuperSprint Magnum header and full exhaust and Shark Injector DME flash). I had the Z out yesterday - much more fun to drive with 2800 lbs and estimated 500hp (probably not that since it hasn't really been fully tuned). Getting in the M5 after that is a let down.

Doug - the 635 is a sweet machine! Congrats!

This thread is stupid, horrible in fact.

I was perfectly fine the last several months thinking that the most well rounded car for my needs as a DD would be an 04' WRX wagon, but now you guys have me researching E36 wagons.

You guys should be ashamed of yourselves.

So... does anyone know how well an oversized 4x12 speaker cab fits into a non-wagon E36?

LoL! Dude, not all Ukranian women are models (Olya is certified in the US).

What gets me about her is that the outer packaging in no way suggests what I have found between her ears. Truly incredible. My dad (who can't really appreciate this now that he's a massive stroke survivor and pretty much gone mentally) finally got his wish. He's full Ukranian, and always told me when I was a teenager and in college: "You should find yourself a nice Ukranian gal." Didn't practice what he preached - his first and only wife had no Ukranian blood (nor did my ex).

BMW content - she likes the M5 and likes the power and handling when I run fast through the twisty backroads. I haven't introduced her to the Z yet. It's too stinky (rich exhaust) for her I'm afraid. She's a health freak (admits it). Some carb tuning (and maybe some cats) are in order.

I meant guitar cab. :-)

I currently squeeze an oversized 4x12 into my 280ZX, and you can hear the strut tower cover interior pieces yelp at me as I shove it in there and close the hatch. It's basically a 30" x 30" x 15" box that angles in the middle to bring the top down from 15" to 10" or so. Oh, and it weights about 50+ pounds. It's a beast to get into a 280ZX. It'd fit in the 280Z if I massaged the towers in back a bit...

Got my lights finally. I’ll spare you the details, I’m just glad I got my lights.

Side fender and front corner are smoked clear with stealth bulbs, (stealth bulbs installed in the pic). Taillights are smoked with stealth bulbs, (Sorry, orange bulb is in this pic,), headlights are Euro Ellipsoids with glass lenses, HID low beams with 50w ballasts, 5K bulbs, protective film on the glass. I did NOT get the angel eyes. Angel eyes look fantastic on the 5 series but so many copy cats have over done them on so many other cars... shrug.gifThese Euro lights do have the city lights, which I may install bulbs in.

Any how, the lights should help clean up the car visually in getting rid of the amber lenses and the HID’s should improve nighttime forward vision. cool.gif
