R200 Diff Gear marked 369

On the crown wheel, ring gear, take your pick. Marked in the usual white. Thing is the gear has 39 teeth, don't know what the pinion has but if 11 then the ratio would be 3.55:1.

Any idea as to what pinion the 39 teeth gear matched?

There should be another mark on the ring gear which has a string of numbers and part of it is the ring and pinion count. It might say 39:10 or 10:39, I can't remember which order they are in, but I think in the US a 10 tooth or 11 tooth pinion would be most common.

You can always mark the ring and mark turn the pinion and see how many revolutions it takes for your marks to come around.

The numbers “in white†are made by the factory before the differential is assembled and do not indicate the gear ratio. As Jon said, the ratio is stamped into the ring gear.

The 36 is the set number and the 9 is the variation number and refer to dimensions used to properly set the side bearing pre-load. This can be all be found in the service manual.
