Hi every one !! my name is erick aguilar and I own a tunning shop in baldwing Park CA ! I have a little project of my a 1970 240z that is been with me for de last 20 years !!! I estarted doing a front tube chassis and i got side track and never finish it and just sat in my house for all these time !!well at that time i hade built a 3.0L turbo engine for it but now its a little to old and i deside to swap it for a honda S2000 engine turbo charge 500hp to start with !!!! later I will built one with 800hp its been a lot of fun working on these car and I wanted to share with every one some pics of it it !!

not finish jet but its really in the works now hope you enjoy all ideas are welcome !!!

The f22c is out of a newer model 2004 and up moré torque and better cams also the transmission it's mutch better comes with carbon sincros ! And better gear ratios .

 

Plus not to mention quicker turbo spool. And once you're shooting for those ultra high HP numbers, every ounce of displacement you can get without risking the block is worth it.

 

The only main reason I can think to go with the 2.0 liter is that it might be a little cheaper, and the "cool" factor of a stock 9k redline.

 

Oh, awesome project by the way. Keep us updated please!

 

Question real quick though. All that work converting the front end to tube chassis and you stuck with the stock suspension design? Kinda weird is all. I understand calculating good suspension geometry is NO easy task, but even getting into a close ballpark by using adjustable components for a miata might be well worth the effort.

I'm curious as to why you used two different diameter tubes here.

 

I'm assuming they are similar in wall thickness... and if that is true then you have put your 'weaker link' (the smaller diameter tube) in a position to receive the highest bending stress (at the weld, where it meets the plate).

 

Rectangular cross section tubing may have been a better choice, to distribute the bending stress at the plate better. Also, a shorter distance from the engine to the frame would reduce the stress seen at the plate.

 

Have you had success with this style of mounting before? I don't know if I would want to push 500hp though that kind of mount.

As an S2000 and S30 owner - I would love to drive one with the F20/22. I have to say I have never driven a car with a better transmission (its really ruined driving others for me) - its going to be great! Do you have a build thread on S2ki? I am following a Celica build there.
