The reason I'm asking is because I currently have a centerforce clutch on my car that's slipping hard in 3rd and 4th and fi.. oh wait i don't have a fifth gear... I recently lost oil pressure in my L28et and boom, toasted... I picked up a new l28et and it has a stock clutch on it. Now I'm running 440cc injectors on a t3/t04 running only about 10 psi. The centerforce is "drivable" but it's not any good. As long as I don't up the boost, do you think the stock clutch will hold? I'm planning on getting a 5 speed and a new clutch eventually for the 240, but right now it's just not in the budget. Thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It's very difficult to determine how much a used clutch will hold, but the brand of the clutch disk and pressure plate will probably have some bearing on how grippy it will be. They had my car on the dyno, they only gave me whp figures but Im at 200 wheel on the stock clutch slipping bad. They said i could push upwards 300 if i had a decent clutch. Nigel Posted June 26, 2010 Share Posted June 26, 2010 I ran an OEM replacement PHC Valeo clutch from Napa and it survived several years of high 13 second drag strip runs and a few track days. It never slipped. So, if you're just looking for an interim solution to get you by for a while, the stock clutch should hold up fine. But it has to be in good condition. Tony D Posted June 27, 2010 Share Posted June 27, 2010 The Nismo 780KG clutch was rated to hold 250hp and 250ft-lbs of torque. At 10psi on the dyno...it went 'poof'! So much for those claims. The CF I installed later held to slightly more than 300, but as things get mileage on them, you will see wear, and wear means slippage.
