LS/T56/240z Project Mentor Wanted

Since my Z is now required day to take me to work, I can't get started on winter mods yet. Argh! Just booked a week at Sandals St Lucia with the wife: investing a little so that as soon as I have something to drive, the all- weekend thrashing can begin.

Keith I need to do the same, I have put all my spare time into my VQ swap for the past 6 months. So I owe my wife a vacation...but I need to be finished in March for the 2015 autocross season. It's funny my wife is constantly seeing boxes being delivered and I get the look "are you done yet, is it my turn?"

Sheetrock is going up in the new garage. Coming along nicely. This should be the last winter that I have to share garage space with my wife's minivan. Hope to order heater for new garage today, then the next big ticket item is a 4-post lift. Think I'm gonna bite the bullet for a new Bendpak. Chipping away on cleaning out the garage so that I can get started on mods when we get back from St. Lucia. I'm having to trash a lotta stuff that I would love to keep, but space just won't allow for it.

Registered for ZCon (all 4 days) in Memphis this coming July. Plan to participate in all Motorsports events, although I will likely skip test and tune at the drag strip on Thursday night and leave drag racing for the last day (carnage risk is high). Cleaning up garage today and ordering a few more parts. Received AZC shortened steering knuckles from a forum member and ordered DP outer tie-rod ends.

Working on my landspeed wheels. Looks like everything will fit, except that I have the wrong length dzus buttons. I'm hoping to order an assortment from somewhere so I can trial and error determine what length to buy. I have seen charts with measurements but I do t trust myself to measure it right.

Continuing the photo dump. Here's how I attached a convex mirror to the stock mirror housing. Simple and effective. I can see out the back and each quarter window too. Some pics of the roll bar painted. The last pic is a pic of a shop I hope mine will mimic.

Continuing my photo dump to catch the thread up. Here's my black drag racing jacket that brings me up to snuff with NHRA rules for up to 9.99 in the quarter (I'm much slower than that). Once I get the electrical shutoff done and the steel bellhousing I'm all updated for drag racing. Then I show my fire resistant clothing and closed face helmet and arm restraints to bring me in rule book for ECTA. I'm not sure if I need fire retardant socks or not, so I may still be deficient. I went ahead and got a HANS device while i was spending like a sailor on leave. I just checked in with my fab guy/welding virtuoso and he hopes to get my car into the shop to repair my door on Monday night. Then when I get back from my vacation to St. Lucia the garage thrashing will begin.
