  1. Okay, my problem is that when starting my car it cranks and cranks and cranks till finally it sputters into life. When i drive my car for a while then shut it off then start it agian i get the same problem. I have a feeling it is a voltage issue because if I push start my car it starts quickly and normal. I have fought this problem for way to long, post anything that might help
  2. It takes about 1 1/2 minutes to warm up with a little revving at about 50 degrees
  3. I have no idea at this point, I ws told the cold start valve only starts if it is way below freezing. I was told it could be a injector leak but??? I hate starting my car like this, it is ruining the starter
  4. Also in portland it doesnt get very cold and now that i have been reading about cold start valves it doesnt seem like it will turn on when it is only 40 degrees so now I have no idea what the problem is.
  5. There is no fuel dibrevation after it has started thats why I think has to do with starting mechanisms in the car
  6. So for a couple of months now my 1983 280zx has been having a cold start problem. Every time I start my car it has a very bad cold start issue. The car will crank and crank and crank till finally the car sputters into life, after that the car runs fine but it is really ruining the battery to start like this. I only start it every once in a while but it happens every time. My prediction is that the cold start valve is not working but any ideas would be great
  7. Yep it is 1983 280zx, so you are saying to replace the PCV valve and check all hoses and should I replace the AFM?
  8. So just about 2 weeks go I replaced my valve cover gasket and I went to start my car and it idled really badly. It would warm up and I would rev the engine and as soon as the RPMs dropped down the car died. It starts back up fine but if you let it sit the car will sputter at idle speed and seem like it is going to stall
