Guest Anonymous Posted December 8, 2001 Share Posted December 8, 2001 #8 header tube gets red off idle under no load.It's a 283 w/mid 80's194[350]heads,performer RPM intake 750 holley.I have corrected fuel delivery,dist.timing,made sure the valves aren't too tight,and made sure that there are no external vac leaks.Put a 600 holley on it got the same results.It seems as though its lean popping up off idle.Has new plugs,wires,cap,and rotor.have triple checked firing order and timeing.It has little or no blowby[no pcv system].I suspect vac leak on under side of manifold scavenging crankcase.Am I over looking anything?Help! 240 Al Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I know you say that you double checked the timing--have you read about ellobo's recent post about the same problem?
