  1. Ok my original idea was to go turbo but seeing as money is getting scarce itll have to wait until next spring. Ive got 330cc injectors in it right now and im afraid i may have gotten rid of the stock ones. Will it run with the 330s or am i going to have to locate a stock set?
  2. Alright basically i've been cutting plug out of my harness i mo longer need. On the distributor there are three plugs. A single wire one, a two wire one that kinda looks like an L and one that looks like an injector plug. For the life of me I can't figure out which one plugs into the one that looks like the injector. I also can't find it in my FSM (although it's for an 81 model, kinda useless) or my Chiltons. They both only list the L shaped plug and the single wire one. If someone knows the color wires for the plug please let me know.
  3. I removed everything shown on the diagram in the FSM. I'll look in the morning and see if the threaded portion pops out of the hole. If it does than this should be easy. If not guess I'll try something else. It looked like the entire assembly your referring to is spot welded to the car. I may be looking at it wrong. I'll check in the morning. Thanks for the help so far.
  4. Hi everyone I'm currently in the process of converting my '82ZX into manual. Everything for the swap was pulled from my '81 donor car. I went to put the pedal in and it seems as if its missing a spot welded nut to thread into. Left it out from factory possibly? It's got play from side to side and it also looks like the plastic pivoting part is missing the pin it slides into. Are they removable from my car or am I going to have to make something work. Hope this was clear enough.
  5. I haven't put them on to test it. Engine is currently on a stand.
  6. I just picked up a set of the translucent wires. Sitting on an engine at the Z Barn. $15.
  7. Just to let you know, if the injectors are from a 2JZGTE they are 550cc unless you got them from Japan. Heres a chart for you. 7MGE: 318cc 7MGTE: 440cc 2JZGE: 315cc 2JZGTE: 550cc US Markets, 440cc Japan Also, the 2JZGTE injectors are side feed, the rest on the list are top feed.
  8. I already have the MN47 head laying here. I spend $30 for it at Pull a Part. I know the compression will be high with the MN47 head but how high I have no idea. I'll do some research right now about N42 vs MN47 heads. Thanks for the input. Anything else sound like it may not work?
  9. Just wanting to show the wheels I picked up from the Z Barn recently. They look like Enkei 92's but are two piece. Needs refinishing but $100 for all four, I couldn't say no. If anyone knows where to find center caps for these things I'd greatly appreciate it.
  10. I'm just wanting to make sure this seems like a good combination before I start tearing down the engine. '81 ZX bottom end with flat top pistons MN47 head with P79 intake valves installed. (I'm told they will work and are larger) I've read it bumps the compression but by how much I am unsure as i've read many different numbers. SU carbs with a 260Z manifold. Lightweight flywheel and new clutch Header and 2.5" exhaust What I'm looking for in this car is a fun weekend driver for spirited driving in mountains, back roads etc. I want nice throttle response and a fast rev. Also above all else, it has to be reliable. Does it seem like I'm going in the right direction? Guess I'll add that if my budget allows at the time, I also want a mild cam and some porting done as well. I'm open to ideas on this and will appreciate any constructive ideas anyone has. Thanks in advance.
  11. Ok cool i'll definitely look into that. What about the feed lines? More specifically, I do not have the stock fuel rail. My plan was to run my line from the mechanical pump and use two tee fittings to each inlet, then a regulator on the end before returning it to the tank. I read thats pretty close to how the stock setup was.
  12. Awesome! Exactly what I needed to know. Route them to the ground. Thanks Tony.
  13. I'm planning a SU swap on my L28E. I have all of the parts now just figuring out my fuel line situation. In the picture I assume the large hose to the right is the fuel feed? What is the smaller hose to the left go to? Heres the picture.
