  1. has not set their status

  2. Tranny not holding power is the problem. Using the Supra clutch/flywheel won't change that.
  3. Fellows, Does anyone know if the Getrag 6spd units (v160) in the SupraTT & the Nissan Skyline Getrag unit are the same. The project is an Imsa GTP VG30 engine in a Z31 . Apparently the stock tranny is good for 500-600 hp but the car will be running 800 whp and a more durable solution is needed . Apparently, the imput shaft on the Toyota is much larger than the z31 unit. I think the imput shaft is 1.33 inches compared to the z31's tranny's appoximate 0.92" inches. Is there any way that one could put the imput shaft of a Nissan getrag trans in the Toyota Getrag trans? This way a Nissan clutch setup can be used? Do you guys see any other impediments to using the V160 besides the fact one would have to fabricate an adapter plate. Perhaps you have suggestions on other durable trans solutions. Thanks for any help. Les
  4. I guess I could not post the chart Forgot to put the original tranny gear ratio's 5spd NISSAN 1st=3.324 2nd=2.077 3rd=1.360 4th=1.00 5th=0.751 Diff/Final Drive = 3.7
  5. Thanks for the reply The engine is a vg30 V6 not L6. nI didn't put the stock tranny's gears ratio's....its the FS5R30A (1987) below. 6. Question on V160 trans swap into an old school 300zx I have a friend that wants to put a V160 Supra tranny into his 1988 Nissan 300z turbo. The car is running 285/40/18's in the rear and has a Nismo 2.8 liter V-6 racing engine that revs easily to 9500 rpm. His car presently has a 5spd with the following ratio's: ***5 Speed Nissan 1st = 2nd = 3rd = 4th = 5th = Diff/Final Drive = 3.7 Anyone knowledgable about gearing that can estimate how the car would perform through the gears compared to stock in the two scenarios below: OPTION 1 ***6 Speed (V160) 1st = 3.827 2nd = 2.360 3rd = 1.685 4th = 1.312 5th = 1.000 6th = 0.793 Diff/Final Drive = 3.133 (UK/US/Euro TT) OPTION 2 ***6 Speed (V160) 1st = 3.827 2nd = 2.360 3rd = 1.685 4th = 1.312 5th = 1.000 6th = 0.793 Diff/Final Drive = 3.7 Thanks Les
