  1. Well I got the call today. They want $1,500 to replace three injectors and the valve cover gaskets. Does that seem to high to anyone else or is it just me?
  2. Thanks for the recommendations all. I had the Z towed up to his shop on Saturday.
  3. Hey all, I have a z32 that just refuses to start. After going through all the basics I am at my wits end with this car and I am ready to have a mechanic look at it. Does anyone know a good shop in Norfolk/Virginia Beach/Chesapeake area of VA that works on Z's?
  4. I just recieved my set yesterday and mocked up the driver's side. There is no way all 6'2" of me is going to fit comfortably in the car with those seats. With no rails installed on the seat the height is just to much. I had to hunch down and lean my head to one side to sit in the seat. With the stock seats Im just fine with 2 inches of clearance to the roof. Having said all that, the seats are very nice. Mine arrived with all parts and no broken adjusters. I think they are well worth what you pay for them. I just wish they fit my 280z and me better.
  5. I had a similar issue yesterday. Very hard to shift between gears while running and reverse was impossible and it seemed to progressively get worse. I checked the service manual and the first thing it says is to adjust your clutch linkage under the dash. I checked the pedal height and I was an inch off of the recommended 8.75 inches from the firewall. Some how I managed to get my big head down on the floor with my feet on the ceiling of the car and adjusted the push rod that connects to the clutch pedal. It shifts like a new car now. No resistance or grinding at all. My guess is the lock nut was extremely loose and was letting the push rod back off the pedal.
  6. Hey all - Long time reader, first time poster. I just jumped in to Z ownership head first by purchasing 3 Z's for $750 each. Two run and drive and the 3rd needs a fuel pump. All of them have their own character (read rust) and personality (read random missing parts). The 77 and 78 are getting put back on the road while the 76 is getting sourced for parts. So to start I have a few misc. interior questions that I can't seem to find answers to through searching google or here. 1. Any issues with swaping the heater control unit from a 76 280z with factory installed AC to a 78 280z with Dealer installed AC? My problem is the motor speed switch is toast and I can't seem to find a replacement for the 3 speed switch. The 76 is a parts car with a working fan switch but it is 4 speed. If I made the swap whould I need to swap the resister in the fan housing also? 2. Will fiberglass hold to the center console plastic? I have read both ways on this, some say yes, and others say it will delaminate in a few years. Any tips to repairing those cracks/breaks? 3. What is that damn random switch on the console? All three of my cars have this switch under the radio and it's always a different type of switch. It certainly doesn't look factory to me!
