    Rb26DETT kit

is 250 for just motor mounts?? or is this with a tranny mount for early Z...I'm confused hahaaaa
  2. I'll keep that in mind....but couldn't you just use the RB26 stock compressor and bracket?? Ii'm going to email Vintage Air and see what they have to say.
  3. thanks, I found out about Vintage in another search attempt... I'm looking into it now...
  4. I live in Texas(hotter than hell)... I would like A/C if I do the RB swap in my 240Z....I've done a search and did not find a thread that described this in detail... I'll probably pay someone to do it, but I just wanted to know if hooking up the RB25 A/C to a 240Z(never had A/C) is hard to do....I wanted to factor this cost in my project only I have nothing to reference... does anyone have an RB swap with here with A/C???

    Rb26DETT kit

haha, well it was more of a sarcastic reference to chevy and ford engine purists (all in fun of course). Honestly, I don't care what engine goes in my Z, as long as it's as fast as it looks haha. I love the 'soul' of my little L6 3.0L stroker, but it's just not as powerful as I would like it to be..

    Rb26DETT kit

wasn't bashing at all.... it was just a preference of mine... makes it easier for me if I'm getting parts from one manufacturer... that's all... Besides, I may end up with a V8 swap in the end. Its just that I have a few friends with shops who know the RB motors pretty well. BTW, what make someone decide between Ford or Chevy???

    Rb26DETT kit

a group rate would be sweet!!.. I'll start getting my ducks in a row now. I've been going back and forth between deciding on a motor swap... this kit (when it comes out) may seal the deal.. I would like to keep the 240Z Nissan...
  8. Thanks. It's nice to look out in my garage and know that all my money and sweat turned a car, ready for the junk yard, into something worth showing off. hehe
  9. thanks, for the tip (why do I get the feeling I'll get talked into installing a v8 for the next motor). I'm starting to do a lot more open track stuff (most of it during warmer months in Texas), and just thought it may make the motor last a little longer.
  10. I know what you mean by the Texas heat.. my Z doesn't have A/C..... it's killing me.. I almost want a swap just for better A/C, more so than HP....hahaha
  11. sweet!! Thank you DavD3. Now I get it... I'm just one of those guys that has to see it done, or have a picture of it. HAHA
  12. I think I answered my own question..saw a post about a "sandwich plate" that adapts between the oil filter and block. Is this correct?
  13. *edit*I guess I could have put this in the tech forum, but since I have an L6. I put it here *edit* I live in Texas and thought that with all the heat, an oil cooler may be a good idea especially for track days. I've seen some aftermarket ones (like throught Motorsport Auto) I've seen pictures of the kit, and had one question. this may sound stupid but, where does the adapter for the inlet and outlet go?? is it suposed to adapt to the stock oil pump?? or where the oil filter goes?
  14. too bad we only see pictures of that car, would love to see it in action.
  15. I've been reading into this swap and like it the more I read about it... Ive read that this swap can be done with the motor mounts of a Z31?? anyone know the part number for that (didn't see it in the threads)?? also I've read about the tranny mounting fabrications, but I've only read about the 240Z with the later type mounting brakets. ( my transmission braket has 2 bolts that bolt straight up, not the braket that slides in between the flanges... anyone have any pictures of this fabrication?? or can you link me to where they are in this forum?? I think ultimately I'll have a shop do the labor (just becuase I'm so unfamiliar with this engine), but I figure the more I learn, the cheaper it will be for me in the long run..
  16. yeah, I hooked it up right...... I did notice that when I bought a better coil it lasted longer... I'm going to try and protect the next one from the heat somehow(along with buying one that is more heat resistant) and see if that doesn't fix the problem... why Nissan put everything on the same side as the exhaust is beyond me... I wonder if there is a short somewhere... I think an electrical system check is in order.. Could to much voltage be going to the coil???
  17. everything else is fine. it did it again yesterday(symptoms), i went straight to an auto shop and picked up another one, and it ran full song afterward.... I'm wondering if it's heat, I'm running a header, that isn't wrapped or coated, and I live in Texas. I'm going to try a better coil and see if that doesn't help... I notice it being worse when I sit at idle for awhile, then it gets better after I drive it for awhile (thinking maybe the coil it getting cooler with some cooler air under the hood), but it still never gets back to 100% spark.
