Thanks for the reply but I'm looking for a valve cover that is cleaned up and ready for install.
I could have it damn near perfect in less than an hour. Let me know and I' ll machine buff it out with some Mothers next Tuesday after Labor day. I'll send you some pix.

I'm looking for a polished L6 turbo valve cover. Must be the 81-83 L28ET type and be a mirror finish. Does anyone know where I can buy one or who can perform this service?
I've got one. Needs to be cleaned up, but it has been machine polished. I'll take $90 shipped.

Hi everyone I finally got a 240z project! I plan to just slowly work on it and eventually have a very nice 240. First thing that I want to start work on is getting the bumpers to fit close to the body like the pre 73 z's. Ive been trying to search to find the answer to this but I keep on finding people wanting to know how to get convert the 280z bumpers to 240z bumpers. I took off the bumper and bracket from my car and was wondering if I will have to modify my brackets or if buying pre 73 brackets will work. There are these 2 vacant holes on the inside of where the headlight bucket is on both sides that are not being used it looks like this is where the earlier brackets could fit but im not sure. Also I know the side tabs on the 73 bumper I have will need to be cut off and moved forward more to mount on the fender in the same place. What else do I need to do? If anyone has a picture of how the early z bumper brackets mount onto the car that would be greatly appreciated
All you need is 70-72 bumper brackets and a early bumper. I did mine, and it was a bolt in.

I sent Kevin 3 last September. He sent me a check within two days, and had the trucking company pick them up a day later. I had access to shrink wrap, pallets, and a forklift. But, I'm sure Kevin would specify a lift gate for those of you in residential areas. Just go out to Home Depot or Lowe's and see if they'll give you a pallet. And, get some banding strap from Depot( in lumber dep.) and ask an associate for ten feet of it and a banding clip. Just tell them your strapping something to your car.

Mine did. It's a '73. Is yours a early or late '74? Pretty sure it should work. Don't forget to bypass the park switch.

I carry(consealed) my Glock .40 . I like it for its lightness. I also have a Sig 229 .40 . It's a little heavier, but I like its feel. Hell, I like shooting. Seems like .40 amo is cheaper anyway.
Let's just move on with the conversation about what guns I should test. This is a very political subject and I'd like to not ruin the thread discussing why I have what I have or want what I want. -
I have a new unused set of MSA street flares for sale. Let me know if your interested, and I'll get you some pictures. They were $239 when I bought them, which was six years ago.

There's no way the value of the g nose and flares are anything close to what it will cost to put the car back in equal shape with stock pieces.
That's a nice looking car, either buy it and run it as is, or pass. If you want a stock looking car, find one like you want to buy.

Ditto! Have you seen what the hotrod '50s and '60s guys are doing with the old custom cars? They're restoring them to the original "custom" look. Get that car and list it on Ebay, Craigs, etc. Somebody(like me!) would kill to find a car like that.

What size and offset are your pana/rotas?

Hey guys, think I have some front fillers if you're still interested. They're off of a '73 but should work on an early '74. Let me know.

I've got some complete rockers off of a 73 parts car I cut up a couple years ago. Same color as your Z too. These are complete in the sense that I cut them with the front pillar back to th rear wheel well. This includes the inner beam also. Don't know if you want to perform that kind of radical surgery, but if you didn't mind drilling out spot welds, the fit would probably be better than Tabco. Let me know if you ever up this way. I've got the roof off the car too.

Get the monza splitter duals and cut off the tips. I bought a righthand Monza 300zx muffler new off Ebay for $13. I'm using the muffler, but I cut off the tips since I had to flip the muffler to fit. Ended up welding on some generic chrome tips. My muffler guy did it for $40 uncluding the tips. I'll see If I can find the tips. Pretty sure there "2 dia. You might want them. By the way which is better; the GMs, or the GEs? Who you running for, NS or CSX? See Ya!

I talked to Eiji at Datsun Spirit several months ago, and he's still working on getting the 432 seats. Might want to drop him an E-M, and maybe if there's enough interest, he'll expedite his offerings. He's a good man, and has come thru for me with door panels and other rare stuff. I must say, I might just pick up a pair of the Corbeau Retro's, and have my trim guy redo the centers with some breathers and woven vinyl. That price is too good!

Have it powder coated. No kidding! Hot Rod Mag did it to there latest Camaro build. Makes sense, since the powder migrates into the knocks and crannies. It can also be sanded and topcoated with high-build primers. So, no need for epoxy primers. I think it was the April issue, with that Army green Camaro on the front.

I bought a complete 240 engine two years ago for $100. Kept the SUs and all the linkage. Just sold the pistons(not that he's using them) and rods to a guy doing a stroker for $75. Took the block, crank, and flywheel to the scrap yard for $10. So, I still have the head, valve cover, cast iron exhaust manifold, carb/linkage/intake. By the way, the internals looked excellent. I hated to scrap that stuff, but that's just the nature of the market.

Checkout www.team3wheels.com . There LT II wheels are very nice. You can get them in any offset and 17X7 and 17x8. Might be a little too pricey for you, but I'm thinking about a set. Or, just go for a set of 16X7 Fastforwards or Konigs.
