  1. Like John said . I always have the throttle wide open and battery charger hooked up when I do compression test .
  2. How did it look after 9 months ? What's weather and temp. like down there ?
  3. Actually , I was thinking of either buying ( very pricey ) or building an airbagged trailer . All my cars are kinda low , especially the 78 ( exh. sys. is about 2" off the ground ) . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ikzm_4Adz3U
  4. So you are not going back with the slam panel ( rear deck plate ) ? Doing bodywork on my 78 and the panel has some rust , not as bad as yours .
  5. 8 in. radius would be fine . And where did you find 8 in. radius pipe ? I found 6 in. at Summit Racing , that's the largest they have .
  6. Yup , that's part of racing . That's why I sold my little 02 Ford Ranger and bought me an 03 Silverado Ext. Cab . Going to get a car trailer next , just in case . .
  7. Use an amp meter to check current draw on each relay , are they fused ? Make sure all your connections are good and tight .
  8. How about 45 deg. pieces ? Any pic of what you are trying to do ?
  9. Don't see why you would need 60-80 Amp. relays , those components don't draw that much . What do mean by " keep dying out " ?
  10. Matt ( mattd428 ) is doing solid axle with 4 link setup on his S30 , back half . Check out his thread .
  11. I would rec to place the filter after the pump , as most carb cars have them there . You can also add on a clear glass tube filter ( serviceable ) before the pump too .
  12. I'm going to use the axles from my 83 , should be ok for stock LS1 ( maybe 100 shot ) . The 83 is getting solid axle conversion , 8.8 Ford , to handle my new 6.0 ( might go with a stroker crank ) turbo build .
  13. I wouldn't rec. cutting any wires . With my conversions , I removed all unnecessary components and taped up all the wires and labeled them . I found myself going back and reused some of those wires for add-ons . This way I don't have to run any new wires for add-ons or whatever .
  14. If the panel fits the door then drill a new hole . Put a dummy door lock in original hole , use it as an anti-theft . It would confuse a thief .
  15. Those mock up blocks and trans are pricey . They are not worth getting for one time use . Think it's about 300-500 for the LS longblock and not sure about trans. . I'd rather put that money else where . Wish there's a place where you can rent one . .
  16. Those little baby u-joints are the reason why I haven't tried to take my Z to the track yet . Even on the street , I don't jump on it , too risky .
  17. I would check the master to make sure it didn't go bad . You can remove the brake lines then plug the holes ( at master ) , press the pedal ( slowly ) down to see if it's firm and holds pressure . You could have a master that's bleeding through .
  18. I have replaced coils , 1 ECM ( Honda ) , BCMs ( GMC ) , and others ( can't remember ) due to key in ON position overnight . For most cars , nothing other then a dead battery .
  19. I would fill it up and drive it for awhile and see . The motor was sitting for awhile before you got it .
  20. ^^^ as stated and cylinder leak down test or you can use compressed air into cylinder ( make sure valves are in closed position ) to see if you can hear air coming out of your valve cover ( at oil cap ) . How many quarts have you added so far ?
  21. There are threads posted here on how-to install flares . I bought a set awhile back then decided not to use them , too much work which I don't the time for . But lately , I'm having a second thought . Looking good .
